The Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) is seeking an experienced program manager to support the international growth of the organization, primarily in India. The incumbent will engage with existing CAS candidates and members and further strategic relationships with our stakeholders, including insurance employers, universities, and industry leaders to strengthen the CAS brand, lead to member growth and support CAS’s overall strategic goals.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following
• CAS Membership Cultivation:
o Leveraging CAS volunteers to expand engagement and influence in the local insurance markets and academic communities
o Organizing conferences, seminars, events and other professional development opportunities for CAS members, candidates, students, and other associated groups
o Increasing local participation in CAS university program programs such as Student Central, Academic Central, and the University Recognition Program
o Promoting and publicizing CAS activities and initiatives internally and externally
o Arranging meetings and trips for visiting leaders and staff
• Stakeholder Relationship Development:
o Building strong relationships with CAS members, candidates, and stakeholders in the region as well as members of local and international actuarial organizations
o Strengthening CAS’ relationships with universities, and supporting the administration of university-focused programming
o Managing sponsorships and booths for local events sponsored by related organizations
• Advancing Market Insights:
o Monitoring the activities of actuarial associations and insurance regulators in the region and providing scheduled and as-needed briefings to CAS leadership and staff
o Contributing to the ongoing development and implementation of the CAS’ international strategy and key performance indicators to support CAS candidate and member growth.
• Other duties and projects as assigned
Required Experiences and Qualifications
• Fluency and strong written communication skills in English
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in project management, business, communications, and/or marketing, preferably related to institutes of higher education
• Fully accredited four-year undergraduate degree (or equivalent experience)
• Experience working with university partnership development in India, preferred. Experience working with math, statistics, or actuarial science departments is desirable
• Excellent time-management and organizational competencies, strong attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
• Ability to work independently as well as in teams while being flexible and adaptable in response to a rapidly changing work environment
• Exemplary relationship-building and customer service skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft products including: Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), SharePoint, and Teams, with experience leveraging these tools for productivity and collaboration.
• Experience working with general insurance firms preferred
• Robust experience leading presentations for broad audiences
• Demonstrated high levels of cross-cultural competency, with a proven ability to navigate and engage effectively with diverse cultural groups. Skilled in adapting communication styles, fostering inclusive environments, and building strong relationships across global teams.
• Event management and meeting planning skills including: budgeting, vendor negotiations, logistics management, and on-site execution.
• Association experience and volunteer management experience desirable
• Availability for occasional local travel and potential international travel (1-2 trips per year)
Note: This is a full-time position, with the expectation of 40-hour workweeks. Work is primarily done during standard local business hours (9:00 am – 5:00 pm) however there will be occasional requirements to attend meetings taking place in different time zones. This is a work from home position, the CAS does not have a local office.
