Role Overview:
BlackRock’s ETF capital markets team based in Canada is responsible for (i) managing day-to-day relationships with Authorized Dealers and other market participants; (ii) monitoring secondary market trading and market quality for iShares ETFs; (iii) assisting clients to access ETF liquidity; (iv) developing liquidity and trading related content; (v) developing and implementing new tools and process enhancements to increase operating scale; (vi) supporting business development and ETF education through direct client and industry engagement; and (vii) partnering with other BlackRock teams on new product development, product management, and other strategic initiatives.

Reporting to the VP, iShares Canada Capital Markets, this role will focus on differentiating our client experience on the basis of product liquidity and depth of execution expertise & support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversight and monitoring of secondary market trading in iShares ETFs, and using BlackRock’s global capabilities to do so at scale
- Assisting both institutional clients and advisors with accessing ETF liquidity on a day-to-day basis and partnering with our sales teams to close business
- Developing and implementing tools and process enhancements that drive operating scale for the team
- Relationship management with ETF market makers, exchanges, and other members of the ETF trading ecosystem
- Developing and presenting impactful ETF trading insights and markets content, such as educational materials, liquidity insights, industry & market colour, etc.
- Partnering locally and across the firm to ensuring smooth operation of the primary market for iShares ETFs, including both standard and customized orders
Qualifications:
- Minimum BA / BS in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering or similar field.
- 5+ years of professional experience
- Direct experience with an ETF sponsor or market maker is a plus, with a passion for markets and ETFs
- Strong knowledge of Canadian equity market structure an asset
- Expert knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Bloomberg, and PowerBI/Tableau; knowledge of VBA, Python, and SQL each a plus
- Able to multi-task and work effectively at various levels of an organization.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners
- Resourceful, proactive and able to prioritize and navigate in a fast-paced team-oriented environment
- Experience and knowledge of ETF structure, concepts, and associated regulatory environments
- Self-motivated individual with impeccable ethical standards and a client-first attitude

The salary range for this position is $123,500 - $132,000. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
