US OPT Data and Customer Analytics
This is the team building the data foundation infrastructure, core platform and services that drive Walmart US business. The objective of the customer analytics organization is to build the best in class engineering, analytics and data science solutions that power the best shopper experience for our customers, adhering to the Walmart philosophy - Everyday Low Cost. In addition to ushering in affordability, we also create personalized experiences for customers the omnichannel way, across all channels - in-store, on the mobile app and websites. The data scientist will play a prominent technical role in architecting data science solutions working with business stakeholders and deliver outstanding business outcomes for problems across Walmart.

What You Will Do
We are looking for Full-Stack Data Scientists to join us in building world class solutions at Walmart scale. You will play a key role in developing, automating, scaling, and implementing solutions that tackle diverse business problems.

The senior machine learning engineer will play a lead technical role in architecting scalable end-to-end data science solutions that are closely tied to business outcomes for our various data science products.
This is a role that combines machine learning leadership, organizational ability, technical strength, product focus and business understanding.
Our team works closely with Data Scientists, App Developers and Product teams to architect the ML system, deploy ML models as real-time inferencing web services and/or batch inference jobs, scale the services to meet production needs, monitor the service health and predictive performance, and re-train the models as needed.
A Senior Machine Learning Engineer is responsible for building scalable end-to-end data science solutions for our data products.
Work closely with data engineers and data analysts to help build ML- and statistics-driven data quality and continuous data monitoring workflows
Solve business problems by scaling advanced Machine Learning algorithms and complex statistical models on large volumes of data
Own the MLOps lifecycle, from data monitoring to refactoring data science code to building robust model monitoring workflows for model lifecycle management
Demonstrate strong thought-leadership and consult with product and business stakeholders to build, scale and deploy holistic machine learning solutions after successful prototyping.
Guide team members in achieving MLOps-driven data science outcomes and handle multiple products and initiatives.
Follow industry best practices, stay up to date with and extend the state of the art in machine learning research and practice, drive innovation by contributing towards publications and patents.
Participate in internal technical councils and represent the organization in forums that involve community of machine learning engineers across industry and academia.
Promote and support company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.
What You will Bring
Knowledge of the foundations of machine learning and statistics and has made core contributions to the area in practice.
Expertise in web service standards and related patterns (REST, gRPC)
Expertise in architecting solutions with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery in mind
Expertise in distributed in-memory computing technologies
Solid experience working with state-of-the-art supervised and unsupervised machine learning algorithms on real-world problems
Strong Python coding skills and able to work with at least one other programming language such as Java/Scala.
Experience with Big Data and analytics in general leveraging technologies like Hadoop, Spark, and MapReduce; Ability to work in a big data ecosystem - expert in SQL/Hive and ability to work with Spark.
Strong ability on refactoring data science code and has mentored data scientists in developing ML solutions.
Experience playing the role of full-stack data scientist and taking solutions to production.
Experience developing proper metrics instrumentation in software components, to help facilitate real-time and remote troubleshooting/performance monitoring.
Educational qualifications should be preferably in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering or a related area.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with effective communication (both written and verbal) skills and the ability to present complex ideas in a clear & concise way, to different audiences. A team player with good work ethics. Years Of Experience: 6 to 10 Years
