About the Role
Senior Data Scientist is the leader of data science in the global Business Intelligence team.
You will harness data science and advanced analytical tools and methods to drive actionable business decisions.
The Senior Data Scientist role is designed to help our commercial and product initiatives with science, equipping key stakeholders with actionable quantitative insights. In this role, you will focus on creating and maintaining models and processes that drive sales, accelerate client revenue growth, improve retention, and increase our product feature adoption.
This role provides an excellent opportunity for a hands-on individual contributor who is aspired to design, scope and deliver actionable data science projects end-to-end. This role will report into the Director of Business Intelligence.
To be successful in this role you are required to have strong data science skills, and a consistent record in leading advanced data science projects, preferably in a B2B software environment, and excellent storytelling skills with data. You are also expected to integrate business understanding, data handling, programming, statistical modeling, and data visualization to generate actionable insights from large datasets.
What you’ll do here:
- Drive data science projects from conceptualization, implementation, and delivery, closely working with commercial, finance, business operations and product teams to ensure measurable impact.
- Build and maintain predictive models that improve sales efficiency, accelerate client revenue growth, forecast churn, and increase our product feature adoption by applying relevant statistical data analysis and modeling methods.
- Design and interpret quantitative experiments to evaluate product features and changes, measure their impact on user behavior and business, and advise future optimization.
- Develop, deploy, and maintain machine learning models in production environments to ensure scalability, reliability to drive revenue growth and reduce churn.
- Collaborate with the data engineering team to shape the development of data infrastructure, streamlining advanced analytics across the company.
- Present analytical findings to senior management, offering strategic recommendations that enhance sales efficiency and product improvements.
- Help drive data science excellence by keeping data and systems current with the latest tech advancements.
- Mentor and coach junior analysts, helping them grow their skills and expertise!
Requirements:
- 5+ years of professional experience as a Data Scientist, preferably in a B2B software environment.
- Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
- Strong background in statistical analysis, predictive modeling, experimentation.
- Strong understanding of statistical methods and techniques (hypothesis testing, regression analysis, causal interference beyond A/B testing).
- In-depth experience with machine learning algorithms (decision trees, random forests, clustering, time series).
- Strong knowledge of SQL, Python and/or R, Spark/Hadoop
- Solid understanding of data management (engineering, data pipelines, workflows)
- Experience working with sales, product, and engineering teams in global roles and environments.
- Strong skills in storytelling with data for both technical, commercial and product stakeholders with varying degrees of technical knowledge. Ability to pare down information to present most relevant findings to key leaders.
- Strong knowledge of reporting and visualization (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Power BI, Plotly, etc.)
- Experience with CRM systems is a plus (Salesforce, HubSpot, Close, etc.).
- Agile and lean thinking, with a bias for action and a focus on delivering business results.
