Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Database DevOps Engineer to join our innovative team in a fully remote capacity. If you are passionate about database optimization and driving technical excellence within a collaborative environment, this role offers you the chance to make a significant impact on our data infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the maintenance and support of MySQL/InnoDB and Redis/KeyDB databases, inclusive of creating new databases, managing migrations, executing backups, and facilitating replications.
  • Architect and implement database schemas, ensuring optimal scalability and performance.
  • Evaluate existing database systems, recommending enhancements to support future growth.
  • Develop and enforce comprehensive backup strategies to maintain data integrity and consistency.
  • Design and enact automation solutions that streamline database management tasks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality deliverables and seamless integration of systems.
  • Stay informed on security best practices and effectively apply them within our infrastructure.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with MySQL/MariaDB databases, preferably within a Linux environment.
  • Strong grasp of fundamental database concepts, including ACID properties and replication.
  • Proven ability in database performance analysis and optimization troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of systems affecting database performance, including storage and networking.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, or Zabbix.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Ruby, or Bash, along with automation tools such as Ansible or Terraform.
  • Experience troubleshooting in UNIX/Linux environments.
  • Exceptional communication skills and a strong work ethic.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
