Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development, testing, and optimization of advanced machine learning models and algorithms to address multifaceted business challenges, ensuring robustness and adaptability.
• Design and implement scalable data pipelines across various database systems, such as PostgreSQL and Elasticsearch, while maintaining high data quality standards through meticulous cleaning and testing processes.
• Create innovative models for extracting and structuring data from unstructured formats, facilitating efficient automated data processing.
• Implement natural language processing (NLP) techniques for the analysis of textual data, including tasks such as entity recognition and topic modeling.
• Produce insightful data visualizations and contribute to comprehensive reports, effectively communicating analytical results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ensure thorough documentation of all data models, analyses, and processes, upholding high-quality standards and reproducibility.
• Oversee data science projects from inception to completion, providing consistent updates to clients and managing project resources efficiently.
• Mentor junior data scientists and analysts, promoting best practices and fostering a collaborative environment.
• Stay informed on the latest advancements in AI and machine learning, integrating cutting-edge methodologies into existing workflows.
  
  

Required Skills

• Proficiency in deep learning frameworks, such as TensorFlow or PyTorch, and experience in natural language processing.
• Strong programming abilities in Python, particularly in data manipulation and modeling libraries like NumPy, Pandas, and Scikit-Learn.
• Expertise in database management, focusing on PostgreSQL and Elasticsearch, and a solid understanding of large-scale data architectures.
• Familiarity with cloud-based distributed computing platforms, such as Spark or Dask.
• Effective project management skills, with the ability to communicate timelines and objectives clearly.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• A Ph.D. in data science, computer science, machine learning, mathematics, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in data science and machine learning, particularly in language-based applications.
• Capability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.
