Lead Enterprise Architect

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are currently seeking an experienced Lead Enterprise Architect to join our team. In this role, you will collaborate with the senior executives of a major Precise customer to ensure the Agency's IT and EA strategies align with its mission. Your responsibilities will include developing technical solutions tailored to the agency's needs and analyzing current technology trends to advise our customers on new frameworks and best practices.

You will use clear architectural models and collaborate with domain experts to define business goals and transform and mature the EA roadmap. Your expertise will enable the agency’s leadership to evaluate the integration of technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Robotic Process Automation (RPA), and Internet of Things (IoT) to leverage their potential benefits.

This position will be located in Rockville, MD, with telecommuting options. Qualified candidates must have or can attain a Public Trust clearance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Enterprise Architecture Development: Lead, transform and maintain the agency's enterprise architecture framework, ensuring it aligns with federal standards and best practices. Create and maintain architectural models, diagrams, and documentation to depict the current and target state architecture. Orchestrate engineering and IT service management organizations to deliver and operate modern SaaS, PaaS, IaaS solutions for enterprise customers leveraging cutting edge cloud environments. 
  • Strategy, Governance and Compliance: Ensure that the enterprise architecture adheres to federal regulations, standards, and policies, including EPLC, TOGAF, FISMA, NIST and other relevant guidelines. Establish and enforce architectural governance processes to maintain compliance. Plan and implement the business mission, strategy, and processes of the organization to its IT strategy.
  • Technology Evaluation and Selection: Evaluate emerging technologies and solutions to recommend their inclusion in the enterprise architecture, considering cost-effectiveness and strategic value. Assess third-party solutions and vendors for compatibility with the agency's architecture. Accountable for overall program technology implementation. 
  • Communication and Engagement: Demonstrate and communicate how the current and future needs of the client will be met in an efficient, sustainable, agile, and adaptable manner. Communicate the benefits and value of enterprise architecture to stakeholders, including senior leadership, project teams, and other relevant parties. Facilitate discussions and workshops to gather input and feedback on architectural decisions.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years of experience in Federal Enterprise Architecture with 5+ years of Application Architecture experience as a Lead EA or key member of the team
  • 5+ Years of Emerging Technologies and Frameworks including Cloud, AI/ML, Data Driven Architectures, Zero Trust, Microservices, SOA, Hyper Automation Enabled Architecture.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal regulations, standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in enterprise architecture frameworks and methodologies (e.g., TOGAF, FEAF).
  • Experience with architecture modeling tools (e.g., Enterprise Architect, ARIS).
  • Demonstrated expertise in driving both the CTO and IT strategies to cohesively propel each other.
  • Deep understanding and working experience in Agile software development lifecycle and services delivery.
  • Exemplary oral, written, interpersonal communication and customer service skills. Executive-level presentation skills a plus.
  • Able to produce results within a collaborative environment.
  • Highly organized and deadline-driven; able to handle multiple tasks.
  • Relevant certifications such as Certified Enterprise Architect (CEA) or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) are a plus.
  • Experience in Transforming Federal Agency EA program maturity is a strong plus.
