Remote US Bookkeeper/Accountant (Property Management)

Extenteam is currently looking for a Remote Bookkeeper/Accountant to join our growing organization and undertake the following tasks:

• Assist with completion of monthly bank reconciliations. 
• Support and complete a variety of accounts payable and accounts receivable functions including entering in bills and invoices 
• Assist with the maintenance and reconciliation of company balance sheet and general ledger accounts. 
• Assist with cash flow needs by ensuring that outstanding balances owed to the management company are paid in a timely manner 
• Assist with monthly and quarterly financial reporting 
• Play an active and collaborative role in the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures for the accounting department. 
• Performing additional duties and completing special projects to assist the finance department on an as-needed basis. 
• Review and prepare monthly Sales and Use Tax returns.
• Serve as a key point of contact and provide expertise and excellent client service to Fortune 500 companies.
• Complete journal entries, online tax payment processing and business registrations for clients.
• Process and review data efficiently and accurately.
• Conduct tax research and analyze tax rates and geographic codes.

Requirements

Foundational Requirements:

• 2-5 years experience with real estate accounting and financial reporting for US based companies (familiarity with GAAP and IRS). 

• Native command of the English language: written and verbal 

• Experience with hospitality revenue accounting is a plus.
• Experienced in using Yardi Voyager.

• Experience using cloud based accounting software, experience using SAGE Intacct is a plus.  
• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or other relevant field is preferred, but not required.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to work independently, be disciplined and self-directed in a 100% remote work environment.
• Highly organized and able to multi-task.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with sales tax preparation software and a history of learning technology quickly.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

- Internet speed minimum 30mbps
- i5 8th Gen or higher
- Windows 10 / MacOS Catalina or higher
- Minimum of 8 GB RAM
- Private and quiet dedicated home office area (no roosters, dogs, children's noises in the background)
- Back-ups in case of power or internet provider interruptions
- Good headset and webcam (preferably noise-canceling headset)
