COMPLIANCE OPERATIONS MANAGER / SENIOR MANAGER

SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Assistant/Associate Director, Compliance Operations, the Compliance Operations Manager will be responsible for assisting in the development, implementation, oversight, and continuous improvement of Ionis’ transparency system, HCP engagement system and Compliance training and monitoring program.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct Fair Market Value (FMV) assessments for Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) to determine their tier and recommend hourly rates for consulting agreements.
  • Provide user support with HCP Engagement System, troubleshoot and track issues, create and maintain SOP, documentation, coordinate and conduct training sessions, etc.
  • Manage Compliance training modules in the Learning Management System (LMS) including working with vendor to obtain SCORM files, coordinate with IT to set up training in LMS, conduct testing and assign training to employees.
  • Track employee progress on assigned training, follow-up as necessary and provide updates to manager to ensure compliance.
  • Assist with Compliance auditing and monitoring tasks e.g., auditing expense reports, speaker program data, spend cap reports, etc.
  • Assist with the implementation and maintenance of a global transparency reporting process to ensure compliance with U.S. Sunshine/Open Payments, state, and ex-US transparency disclosure laws
  • Responsible for the collection and processing of data in Ionis’ spend transparency system.
  • Manage the administration and tracking of company compliance policies and training
  • Assist with remediation of transfers of value to ensure timely and accurate data submissions for U.S. Sunshine/Open Payments, state, and ex-US transparency disclosure laws
  • Periodic travel within the U.S.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree and at least 4 years of relevant work experience in the pharmaceutical and/or life sciences industry with a compliance or analytical role, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and applicable job experience.
  • Knowledge and understanding of pharmaceutical compliance issues
  • Must be detail oriented and organized
  • High level of integrity with the ability to maintain the protection of proprietary and confidential information
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and employees
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and project management skills
  • Flexibility to work in a fast paced and dynamic work environment with a strong work ethic and positive attitude
