·         We realize time away to recharge is important.  We offer flexible paid time off!

·         Great work deserves recognition. We have a robust recognition program, with ongoing and enhanced awards for exemplary performance.

How You Will Contribute:

Reporting to the Director, People & Culture Technology, as a People & Culture Technology (HRIS) Analyst, you will have a consistent track record working in and supporting HRIS/HRMS tools, specifically Workday. We’re looking for someone that has a solid understanding of Workday HCM and Payroll, and can work on multiple initiatives simultaneously. This person will also assist our global teams, so flexibility in working hours is essential.

·         Your days will be different as you tackle a variety of challenges, find creative ways to solve problems and ensure a great user experience for various teams within Ciena.

·         You will provide advice and support for our global Payroll implementation across relevant configuration areas in Workday, scope requirements, and work with our IT Employee Services (ITES) team in system configuration.

·         As you work through the various business requirements and opportunities to improve efficiency, you will also be given the freedom and autonomy to propose process and tech improvements, new Workday enhancements, and implement new modules.

·         Spanning 40+ countries, this role will allow you to gain global experience.

What Does Ciena Expect of You?

·         Relationship builder – you’re capable of building trusted internal and external working relationships quickly, enabling you to get work done in an efficient fashion.

·         Customer first – what’s important to the customer is equally important to you.  You make understanding their needs, expectations and circumstances a priority.

·         A high level of comfort in working independently or as part of a multi-faceted and matrixed team network.

·         You embrace change – thriving in a multi-faceted, multi-team environment of ever-changing and often competing priorities.

·         Communication expertise – you possess the ability to clearly articulate technical issues and tailor your message to the audience to ensure understanding and agreement.

·         A dedication to ongoing learning – with a desire to continuously expand your knowledge and explore emerging eLearning techniques and technologies.

·         A keen curiosity about using automation to help improve the employee experience

·         A teammate with excellent organization, prioritization, project, and time management skills

·         Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and an ability to work on multiple initiatives concurrently

·         Experience supporting and partnering with diverse and globally dispersed customers and team members

Assets:

·         Post-secondary education in Human Resources

·         Work experience within an HR function preferred
