The role

The Data Product Manager gathers input and data from internal processes to create forecasts and business plans that drive growth for assigned products. This role is responsible for discovering data analytics requirements from multiple stakeholders. Contributes appropriate product-related insights and strategies throughout the product life cycle, either by collaborating or getting feedback from stakeholders. Works cross-functional, helping various business units define strategy and roadmaps.

Where you'll work

This is a remote role, with preference in Austin, Texas.

What you'll be doing

  • Applies product management concepts to Product Strategy, Product Marketing, and Product lifecycle

  • Proactively reports to the Product Manager and collaborates with the product development team.

  • Effectively gathers product data, including web analytics, statistics, and consumer trends.

  • Analyzes consumer research data and records product defects.

  • Determines improvements to product features

  • Utilizes data to identify detailed requirements of new features. 

  • Identifies unique relationships between multiple product lines and aligns them. 

  • Coordinates findings with the product team and aligns them with business goals.

  • Prepares project status and risk management reports.

  • Develops marketing strategies for enhanced product features.

  • Trains internal departments on new product features and providing support to customers.

  • Developings efficient customer communication and feedback channels.

  • Streamlines the production processes and strategy by utilizing data science techniques and hypothesis testing to improve products. 

  • Works with the product team, product owner, data science teams, data engineers, and other stakeholders

  • Ensures alignment with Developers as to User Acceptance and definition of “Done”

What you'll need

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, business management, marketing, or a related field.

  • 4+ years product management experience (or demonstrated in-kind efforts)

  • General Understanding of product management concepts, like product strategy, product marketing, and product lifecycle

  • Ability to define Product Roadmap with little to no guidance

  • Ability to define Product Vision with little to no guidance

  • Demonstrated ability to handle more than one product component where necessary

  • Experience in gathering and interpreting qualitative product data and consumer feedback.

  • Ability to analyze industry trends and competitor behavior.

  • Exceptional ability to identify improved product features and contribute to marketing strategies.

  • Proficiency in compiling project status, risk management, and marketing reports.

  • Ability to maintain strong customer relations and provide product support.

  • Competency in training internal departments on new product features.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time

  • Ability to effectively meet deadlines at the expected quality
