About the Team

The Data Quality Assurance Team (DQAT) at Policy Reporter, is a mid-sized and growing team tasked with maintaining data quality and data comprehensiveness. We achieve this by taking a detailed and methodical approaches to all document analysis, as well as through technology enabled solutions. 

 

The Data Quality Assurance Team comprises data quality coordinators, team leads, co-op students, part-time and the manager. Our work revolves around Categories for Data storage, Products, Database Maintenance (DBM), Data intake and Maintenance. This position involves working closely with the DBM team using tools to update documents from payer webpages. If successful, you will be joining a friendly team with a healthy work/life balance. About the Position

In your first work term, you will undergo several weeks of training and receive tasks to get to know the database. By helping us maintain and expand our resources, you will get a feel for the work, environment, and team. The following term is based heavily in developing and refining your skills in navigating and maintaining the database. 

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with an interest in database maintenance and strong attention to detail to join our team as a Junior Data Quality Coordinator. 

Responsibilities:
  • Clean up the stored healthcare data stored within the database by various recurring data quality checks 
  • Communicate ideas and problem solve the issues with team members and supervisors 
  • Analyze payer websites to ensure completeness of database   
  • Research and resolve tracking errors within the database 
  • Perform regular data intake & database maintenance activities and resolving ongoing issues determined by existing processes 
  • Creation and monitoring of Database Maintenance tasks that address tracking errors, data population, and clean-up tasks (payer grouping, archiving, changing payers, merging/splitting) 
  • Adding & editing documents via the indexing process 
  • Responsible for the index maintenance processes (e.g. index population or archiving) 
  • Assisting the Data Quality Coordinators and team lead with specialized database maintenance and organization tasks 
  • Monitor data quality-related Slack channels and forms  
Qualifications:
  • Ability to maintain focus on repetitive tasks for long periods of time 
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to remember large quantities of procedural information 
  • Ability to communicate complex subjects and ideas clearly in both written and spoken forms of English 
  • Ability to manage several priority tasks that may have overlapping deadlines 
  • Ability to work independently but also as part of a team with formidable emotional intelligence skills. 
  • Familiarity with SharePoint and Microsoft Excel, Internet Searches and Slack  
  • Ability to communicate progress and escalate problems appropriately 
  • General knowledge of database relationships/dependencies would be preferable

Compensation: $20.50/hr
