Purpose of the Position:
The Graduate Success Coordinator plays a pivotal role in ensuring the success of both recent graduates and current students. This role oversees graduates’ initial weeks of employment in the allied health care field, actively supporting them to overcome obstacles and achieve career success.
The Graduate Success Coordinator reports to the Career Services Manager and Senior Career Services Manager.
UMA is a nonprofit healthcare educational institution with a national presence. Headquartered in Tampa, Florida and founded in 1994, UMA offers content-rich, interactive online programs as well as hands-on training at our Clearwater, Florida campus.
Pay rate: $20.00/hr.

What You’ll Do:
- Graduate Support and Coaching: Assist graduates in achieving success with employment, with career coaching during their initial 2 weeks and up to the first 30 days of employment.
- System Development and Maintenance: Develop and maintain systems to support employment opportunities for students and graduates. Ensure efficient and accurate processes for job placement.
- Placement Verification and Student Identification: Identify active students currently employed in allied healthcare facilities. Complete all necessary placement verification procedures promptly.
- Collaboration and Process Completion: Partner with the Graduate Success Processors and the Placement Verification Team. Ensure successful completion of all placement verification processes.
- Alumni Connection and Obstacle Resolution: Collaborate with other members of the Career Services team, including production and corporate alliances. Assist students and graduates in overcoming employment obstacles when necessary. Facilitate connections between working graduates and the Alumni Department for ongoing career services support.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Experience:
- Associate degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience in education, career services, employment staffing, out placement services, executive search, or related field.
- Knowledge of different application processes and expectations.
- Experience overcoming graduate (or equivalent customer) obstacles.
- Skills – organization, communication/interpersonal skills, attention to detail, teamwork, and time management.
- Ability to professionally communicate fluently in verbal and written English.
- Ability to support a diverse and inclusive work environment.
- Computer literacy/basic computer skills to effectively navigate and utilize the technology required for the role.
Preferred Requirements:
- Any degree or equivalent experience and/or strong or advanced proficiency in any of the above required skills/experience.
- Knowledge of the Career Service Advisor role.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other business tools such as Microsoft Teams.
- Other skills or abilities – influence, comfortability communicating with all levels of an organization, punctual, disciplined, complex problem-solving, attention to detail, and motivation.
Compliance:
- Demonstrate knowledge of, and carefully follows all applicable state laws and rules, federal and state compliance requirements and regulations including those prescribed by the U.S. Department of Education, accrediting agencies, state regulations and internal policies and procedures.
- Effectively communicate compliance requirements to other staff as appropriate and quickly escalate any compliance concerns to the Compliance department.
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
- This is a full-time remote position.
- Home office set up, quiet place to work, ability to be on camera, and ability to hard wire into high-speed internet connection.
- May require setup of computer equipment; accommodation consideration available upon request.
