Position: Senior Accountant/Auditor - Remote

We are excited to invite an accomplished Senior Accountant/Auditor to become a vital part of our professional team. Job Overview

As a Senior Accountant/Auditor, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality audit, review, and compilation services from inception to completion. Your analytical skills and attention to detail will be essential in assessing risks and ensuring compliance with relevant standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute audits, reviews, and compilations comprehensively.
  • Evaluate risks and examine balances in various accounts.
  • Reconcile financial data against bank statements and investment reports.
  • Maintain the fixed asset register, managing additions, deletions, and depreciation.
  • Conduct thorough testing and reconciliation of receivables and payables.
  • Ensure accurate alignment of balances and schedules with source documentation.
  • Reconcile cash, investments, debt, revenues, and expenses to external confirmations.
  • Review grant and loan agreements to identify relevant information.
  • Update debt schedules and perform payroll analytics.
  • Reconcile payroll data with government reporting requirements.
  • Prepare adjusting entries and analyze audit segments as necessary.
  • Compile financial statements and ensure the trial balance aligns with workpapers.
  • Create grouping schedules and prepare tailored footnotes for clients.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience within a public accounting firm.
  • CPA license or equivalent certification is essential.
  • Strong expertise in auditing, accounting, and analytical methodologies.
  • Proven capability in managing audits, reviews, and compilations independently.
  • Familiarity with accounting software, including Thomson Reuters and Workpaper CS.
  • Knowledge of grants, contributions, and restricted funds is advantageous.
  • Exceptional communication skills for articulating complex accounting concepts.
  • Experience in both independent and collaborative work settings.
  • Ability to thrive in a remote and paperless work environment.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is required.
  • Experience with nonprofits and municipalities, including single audits, is preferred.
