Summary/Objective:
The Vice President of Business Development, Retail, is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive go-to-market strategy. This leader collaborates with the product team to design solutions tailored to client needs, drives the sales of existing products, and is accountable for achieving targeted business growth. The role also involves coordinating client onboarding and launch processes in partnership with account services, operations, IT, and finance teams to ensure seamless execution.
Essential Functions:
- Market Expansion & Strategy: Identify and research potential business opportunities for expansion and collaboration in the retail sector. Work closely with senior management to align opportunities with the company’s overarching strategy, including new product offerings and customer acquisition across all retail channels.
- Sales & Marketing: Develop and deliver persuasive sales presentations to both prospective and existing clients. Responsibilities include lead generation, prospecting, scheduling appointments, preparing and presenting proposals, and closing sales deals.
- Sales Process Management: Oversee the sales process within assigned verticals, including the creation, management, and execution of marketing strategies and campaigns. Build and implement tactical plans using available resources to meet and exceed company expectations while collaborating with internal Centricity partners.
- Strategic Partnerships: Cultivate and optimize strategic relationships with business partners in assigned verticals to enhance business development efforts and drive growth.
- Project Leadership: Lead various projects and assignments as directed by senior leadership, all aimed at supporting the growth and expansion of the organization.
Travel:
Up to 50% travel is required.
Required Background:
- A minimum of 10 years of proven experience in business development, with a focus on selling products and/or extended warranties in the retail and OEM sectors, particularly in the appliances, electronics, and other relevant categories.
- A broad network of contacts within the retail and OEM sectors at a senior level.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Strong data analysis and recommendation skills.
- Experience in capacity planning and scheduling.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and PowerPoint.
