Purpose of the vacany
As we continue to evolve and expand our impact, we recognize the vital role that communication plays in driving our mission forward. We are seeking a Communications Manager to help oversee and ensure the successful implementation of our communications strategy. The role focuses on overseeing content production, coordinating outreach efforts, and ensuring that communication objectives are met, with a strong operational emphasis.
Main Responsabilities
1. Operational communications management
Oversee the day-to-day implementation of TINTA’s communications strategy, ensuring alignment with the organisation's mission and goals.
Manage the production of content, including press releases, newsletters, reports, and digital media, ensuring that materials are produced on time and to a high standard. Lead the execution of digital strategies, including maintaining the website and managing social media platforms, ensuring that TINTA’s online presence is consistent and engaging.
2. Content coordination and production
Work with the Storytelling and Engagement Officer to ensure that stories and key messages are aligned with TINTA’s objectives and resonate with audiences. Supervise content production to ensure high-quality multimedia content is delivered on schedule. Ensure all communication outputs (e.g., blogs, reports, videos) are culturally appropriate and respectful of the communities TINTA serves.
3. External communications and media relations
Serve as the point of contact for external partners and stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and collaboration on joint projects and campaigns. Support external engagement activities, such as preparing materials for webinars, events, and presentations, and ensuring they are aligned with the organisation's objectives. Manage relationships with media outlets, coordinating outreach efforts to secure positive media coverage of TINTA supported initiatives.
4. Monitoring and reporting
Track and report on the performance of communication initiatives, ensuring that key metrics (e.g., social media engagement, media mentions) are met. Provide regular updates on communication activities and progress to the General Coordinator, identifying any challenges and recommending adjustments.

Requirements and Competencies to Work with Us
Education
University degree related to communications, public relations, journalism, nonprofit, policy making or environmental studies.
Experience
Proven experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in communications or public relations, preferably within nonprofit, Indigenous rights, or environmental sectors.
Cross-cultural communication: Experience working with Indigenous Peoples’ organisations or similar communities, ensuring content is culturally sensitive and respectful.
Content oversight and production experience: Proficiency in managing written, digital, and audiovisual content, ensuring high-quality outputs.
Knowledge and Skills
Operational mindset: Ability to execute communication plans and oversee the day-to-day management of content production and outreach.
Digital communication skills: Experience managing social media accounts, websites, and digital outreach platforms.
Competencies
Strong organisational skills: Experience managing multiple projects and ensuring content is produced on time and aligned with strategic goals.
Language skills: Working proficiency in Spanish and English is required, proficiency in French, or Portuguese is a strong advantage.
