Job Description:
Take the lead on R&D alliance management at Ferring
Do you enjoy ensuring strong collaboration and optimizing the value of partnerships?
Would you like to use your experience to develop the R&D alliance management function in Ferring – from defining our external engagement strategy to strengthening and broadening existing alliances and contributing to establishing new ones?
At Ferring Pharmaceuticals, we help people worldwide build families and live better lives. We strive to always be entrepreneurial and innovative in our approach to scientific advances. From early research to phase III studies, we are increasing our efforts to establish effective partnerships with academics, biotechs, and pharmaceutical companies worldwide.
Therefore, we are looking for a new Alliance Management Director who can work both strategically and operationally. You will collaborate closely with the broader External Innovation & Scientific Licensing (EIS) team to manage a diverse portfolio of collaborations with external partners across all Ferring therapeutic areas and the R&D life cycle.
Ferring + you
Joining the External Innovation & Scientific Licensing team, you can look forward to a dynamic workday in an agile, challenging, and fun environment. We strive to push the boundaries of innovation in an ever-changing and dynamic marketplace.
You will lead our alliance management function and be responsible for a diverse portfolio of strategic alliances. Your goal is to secure the execution of contractual obligations and mutual agendas and to build and maintain interactive relationships with external partners and internal Ferring R&D teams.
Your day at Ferring
By sharing your knowledge across, within, and outside Ferring, you will become a role model for best practices in alliance management and connecting with stakeholders. You will proactively build and maintain strong networks among our prospective therapy and technology partners. By doing so, you will become an effective ambassador for the Ferring global brand to ensure that we continue to be perceived as a partner of choice with outside organizations and companies.
Among your responsibilities will be to:
- Lead strategic and process improvement projects to establish the capability for external integration and alliance management within Ferring
- Ensure value generation through our partnerships and alliances, including preparing and leading strategic recommendations to senior management and tracking risk mitigation plans
- Manage alliance meetings and facilitate steering committees, alliance amendments and terminations, and conflict resolutions
- Complete tracking, communication, and management of key milestones, financial transactions, and progress reports to ensure compliance with stated plans
- Communicate financial or project deviations and manage change control and decision-making associated with any deviations in strategic or operational plans
Your primary work location will be our spectacular, state-of-the-art offices, Soundport, in Copenhagen. You can also work from home a few days a week. Moreover, you can expect some travel to maintain our global partnerships.
Behind our innovation – there’s you
This is an opportunity to apply your clinical understanding, business acumen, and strategic abilities in a broad role where your interpersonal savvy and aptitude for negotiation and conflict resolution will be instrumental in achieving success. Drawing on your experience, you are confident communicating with executive leadership and know when to escalate potential issues.
- You have excellent project management skills and experience with alliance management (including contractual obligations)
- You have a good understanding of the development processes within pharma and biotech
- You have a degree at PhD or MBA level, combining science and business
- You have strong communication skills as well as the cultural sensitivity to work effectively across a global organization
