Network Administrator

Xpressdocs is looking for an experienced Network Administrator to join our team in Fort Worth.  In this role, you will work as part of a team of IT professionals who provide in-house support of the network and server infrastructure which hosts the Xpressdocs client platform, as well as applications that support our manufacturing and operations capabilities. 

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting, configuring, and maintaining Xpressdocs network infrastructure (consisting of LAN, WAN, SSL-VPN, and site-to-site VPN), as well as supporting virtual based networking (VMware) across multiple data centers and cloud environments.  The right candidate for this role is a self-motivated individual who likes solving challenging problems, learns quickly, and has a best practices mindset. The candidate should possess the ability to multitask in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, and believe that teamwork is an essential component to success.  Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment are required. 

In this position, your responsibilities will include:

Network Administration 


  • Install, configure, and maintain network hardware with secure configurations:
    • Cisco Catalyst 9000 series switches, and Fortinet Next-Gen firewalls.
  • Configure site to site VPN tunnels, using SD-WAN to manage automatic failover.
  • Manage and maintain virtualized networks using VMware, or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
  • Manage and maintain IP address assignment, network cabling maps, topology diagrams.
  • Manage and maintain network services, such as DNS, DHCP, and SSL-VPN clients.
  • Manage and maintain system backups and disaster recovery plans.
  • Develop automation scripts for system management using PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
  • Conduct regular network performance tests and predictive analysis.
  • Plan for future network expansion and upgrade needs by assessing capacity and performance requirements.

 

Support and Troubleshooting


  • Monitor system performance to ensure the availability and reliability of the infrastructure.
  • Diagnose and resolve networking issues via hardware, and software.
  • Perform routine system updates, patches, and security configurations.
  • Collaborate with other members of the IT team to resolve complex technical issues, ensure smooth and efficient incident resolution, and problem management.
  • Provide technical support to users, addressing network-related issues and resolving connectivity problems.

 

Security and Compliance


  • Manage and maintain network security including Firewalls, and IDS/IPS systems.
  • Manage and maintain network authentication using MFA via Active Directory, and Azure AD.
  • Assist in audits, risk assessments, and penetration testing.
  • Ensure systems comply with organizational policies, industry standards, and best practices.

 

Collaboration & Project Management


  • Participate in infrastructure projects, migrations, and expansions.
  • Provide input into system architecture design and future technology planning.
  • Manage vendor relationships for hardware and services.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for systems, configurations, and procedures.

Required Skills and Qualifications


  • 2-year IT degree or equivalent technical work experience with network hardware.
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco routers/switches, and Fortinet next-gen firewalls.
  • Hands-on experience configuring VLANs, site-to-site VPN tunnels, and SD-WAN.
  • Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere, including vCenter.
  • Hands-on experience with packet tracing tools, such as Wireshark.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Active Directory, including Azure AD.
  • Hands-on experience with DNS, DHCP, and SSL-VPN configurations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.


Preferred Skills and Qualifications


  • Technical certifications, such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, Cisco CCNA..
  • Familiarity with Windows and/or Linux server operating systems.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 administration, Exchange Online, MS Teams.
  • Familiarity with AWS, or other cloud/virtualization technologies.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python).
  • Familiarity with logging/monitoring tools such as SolarWinds Orion, Syslog, or similar.
  • Familiarity with physical and virtual data center operations in a multi-vendor environment.
  • Familiarity with backup and recovery tools, disaster recovery procedures, and business continuity planning.


Physical Requirements

  • The ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • The ability to sit at a desk up to 80% of the time.
  • The ability to stand and walk up to 20% of the time.
  • The ability to ascend and descend ladders.
  • The ability to move throughout all departments including production areas.
  • The ability to be confined in a small area, such as a cubicle.
