Paid Time Off:

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting Risk & Audit assists the Financial Reporting team with the preparation of financial statements for internal and external users by collecting and analyzing financial data and ensuring compliance with all internal controls and applicable regulatory requirements.
Work Schedule:
This role is offered on a fully remote basis allowing our Senior Accountant Financial Reporting to be based anywhere in the country.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of the internal monthly/quarterly reporting.
- Prepare schedules and other documentation necessary to assist in the completion of monthly financial reporting requirements.
- Prepare journal entries.
- Prepare, review, and sign-off on account reconciliations as assigned.
- Assist in the timely identification and compliance with evolving accounting guidance; provide US GAAP interpretation and prepare technical memorandums that document issues in a clear, logical, and comprehensive manner.
- Support financial reporting management in creating and maintaining various monthly reports as well as assessing the impact of changes in our reporting structure.
- Understand and adhere to established AMSURG internal controls.
- Work under the direction of management in performing various financial analyses on a monthly basis.
- Implement process improvements with respect to the financial reporting process.
- Participate in special projects and perform other job-related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from a four-year Accredited College or University.
- CPA accreditation.
- Three or more years’ experience in public accounting and / or the accounting industry.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); Accounting software; and PC laptops.
- Previous experience in this role in the healthcare space is a plus, but not required.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be able to handle multiple, simultaneous tasks effectively and efficiently while maintaining a professional, courteous manner. Must be able to work well with others. Strong verbal and written communication skills required. Must be detail oriented and organized. High integrity, including maintenance of confidential information. Must be able to exercise good judgment. Based on business need, the ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends. Must pass a background check and drug screen.
