Job description

The Koch Internship Program (KIP) is a paid, 10-week experiential learning program run by Stand Together Fellowships that offers meaningful work experience at non-profits all over the country tackling some of our nation’s most pressing challenges. Throughout your internship with a partner organization, Stand Together Fellowships hosts virtual professional development sessions every Thursday from 1-5 pm ET, wherein you will be mentored by seasoned professionals as you craft a capstone project on the topic that matters most to you.  Interns will receive either a $5,500 or $3,300 stipend from Stand Together Fellowships depending on whether they are participating full-time (40 hours/week) or part-time (28 hours/week).

Successful candidates will interview with both our non-profit partner organizations and Stand Together Fellowships staff, so we strongly encourage you to apply in advance!

Act is a Christian, legal non-profit that works to make neighborhood safety a normal reality for everyone. To do this, we equip underserved residents to fight crime on their street using the civil justice system. We seek to cultivate a culture of freedom and responsibility that yields effective results from our team members’ best work. We value building a team that is committed to diversity, equity & inclusion. Act currently serves multiple neighborhoods in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. The organization operates as a 501(c)3 with 30+ full-time employees and a $4 million-dollar annual budget.

Act is seeking an energetic and detail-focused  intern with a self-starter mentality to work with our Expansion Committee. This position will focus on researching topics related to Act’s work and scaling to new cities, reviewing data, preparing written and verbal communications used by the Expansion, Advancement and Leadership teams at Act. This intern will also help write and design presentations; draft memos to prepare team members for meeting with future partners and scholars, inform strategic growth, and show implications of policy on Act’s model, and have the opportunity to work cross-departmentally.

The ideal intern is engaging, interested in translating research and data into written memos and presentations, and excited to learn more about Act’s mission and vision and impact on the communities we serve. The intern will report to the Vice President of Advancement and serve on the Advancement team. This team creates connections and awareness for our work and raises the necessary funds to support it. Advancement hosts our service opportunities and networking and education events. They produce our collateral, like our documentaries & monthly newsletters, and they support our advisory committees. They also build edifying, sustainable relationships with individual and corporate donors.
Stand Together Fellowships believes that diversity in experiences, perspectives, knowledge and ideas fuels creativity, broadens knowledge, and helps drive success. Our admissions office treats all program participants and applicants with honesty, dignity, respect and sensitivity. We welcome all qualified applicants regardless of color, race, religion, religious creed, sex, gender or gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, national origin, citizenship, ethnicity, ancestry, age, physical disability, mental disability, medical condition, pregnancy (including medical needs which may arise from pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions), military and veteran status, genetic information, marital or familial status, political affiliation, or any other legally recognized protected basis under federal, state or local laws, regulations or ordinances.
