Job description

Position Title: Data Privacy Specialist

Reports To: Partner, Partner Advisor

Primary Relationships: Partner Team

Date: October 2024

Schedule: 9:00 PM - 6:00 AM PHT

Summary:

The Data Privacy Specialist will work with various regional teams within the organization and ensure that privacy related requirements are defined, communicated, and implemented. This role will assess the current situations, identify data privacy risks, and develop policies, processes and manage ongoing privacy compliance. This should be done with utmost integrity, increase transparency, and foster trust by making sure the organization stays on a lawful, ethical, and compliant course.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, and implement data privacy practices in business processes

  • Prepare Record of Processing Activities (RoPA) and Data Privacy Impact Assessments (DPIA for entire ecosystem of personal data and their inter-relations across the ecosystem

  • Implement remedial actions for data privacy compliance

  • Prepare privacy policies, standards, procedures, guidelines and templates and their implementation

  • Assist teams in automating their privacy capabilities and deploy and maintain privacy tools

  • Assist in the assessment of suspected privacy events and breaches

  • Assist external or internal auditors with compliance audits

  • Work as a data privacy point of contact for the regional teams

  • Maintaining privacy compliance records

  • Regular reporting on privacy compliance

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or above in Information Systems, Computer Science, Electronics and Communications, or equivalent disciplines

  • At least 5 years of experience in Data Privacy and Compliance

  • Experience with Record of Processing Activities (RoPA), Data Privacy Impact Assessments (DPIA), and Privacy Risk Assessments

  • Familiar with global privacy laws, regulations, and standards especially data privacy law such as CCPA/CPRA, European GDPR etc

  • Experience of preparing data privacy policies, procedures, and implementation of data privacy solutions

  • Working knowledge with Data Management and Privacy tools, e.g. OneTrust or equivalent

  • Good communication skills

  • Fluency in English

  • Team player, self-starter, and can positively adapt to change
