Job Description

We are currently expanding our field operations team throughout North America and are looking for a part-time Field Service Specialist! This position would be responsible for the regular maintenance and upkeep of our technology which is currently deployed throughout multiple retail stores in your geographic area. Additionally, as new stores deploy our technology, assistance with new installations or other special projects may also be required. Depending on the scope/size of your geographic region, overnight travel may be required but should be limited. Training would be provided.

We’re looking for people who think critically, communicate effectively, and love to be hands-on.

Responsibilities

  • To be the face of Focal Systems and meet the expectations of our valued customers.
  • Install, repair, and maintain the technology deployed within the retail stores in your specific geographic region.
  • Troubleshoot any issues using the training, tools and equipment provided.
  • Escalation of new issues to the appropriate internal support teams.
  • Occasional travel to local storage facilities as required to collect or return tools/equipment.
  • Properly maintain and protect company-provided tools and equipment.
  • Able to work independently and offer assistance if required to fellow field specialists.
  • Adhere to all applicable Health & Safety Policies.
  • Support our internal teams (hardware/software) by assisting in occasional software feature testing or the testing of new hardware solutions.

Requirement

  • Flexible with your schedule, including nights and weekends as required.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation, to and from work.
  • Must possess a functional modern smartphone (Android/iPhone) with a web browser such as Chrome or Safari installed.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have consistent availability and reliability.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively.
  • Must have access to reliable transportation, to and from work.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to safely use a step ladder as needed.
  • Must be comfortable utilizing Technology (i.e. smartphones and other handheld devices).
  • Must possess strong time management and interpersonal abilities.
  • Must be detail-oriented and ensure accuracy in your work.
  • Must maintain quality standards that meet and/or exceed expectations.
