CHG’s Marketing and Customer Products Department is looking for a Sr. Manager Marketing Conventions to join our team. This role will be responsible for the strategic planning, production, and execution of the convention and trade show program for CHG. The candidate will be responsible for leading a team of convention specialists, managing exhibits, and planning sponsorships and other promotional activities at trade shows for the CHG brands.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of specialists and foster a highly collaborative environment, promote a culture of creativity, accountability, and excellence while supporting development and goal setting.
- Partner and work effectively with sales teams, marketing, and suppliers to create and implement programs that maximize marketing and sales objectives at conventions.
- Identify relevant tactics for measurement and reporting of marketing, convention/event, and sales performance.
- Build and maintain reliable relationships with vendors, ensuring high-quality services and favorable contract terms.
- Identify and recommend strategic sponsorship options, advertising opportunities, and unique events to support and maximize results at key functions.
- Implement streamlined processes and systems that improve the planning, budgeting, tracking, execution, and follow-up phases of events, saving time and resources.
- Refine the company’s convention strategy, ensuring alignment with broader business objectives while staying apprised of the latest industry trends.
- Ensure all convention activities are compliant with association rules, company policies, and ethical guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Strong expertise in vendor assessment, contract negotiation, and budget management.
- Proven leadership experience, with the ability to manage and develop a team.
- Understands the key drivers in employee engagement and experience in leading and developing people.
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with a focus on executing large-scale events on time and within budget.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence both internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Understands basic marketing fundamentals (e.g. customer insights, message development, communications strategies).
- A strong technical aptitude and excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills are essential.
- Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours, as needed and travel 2 – 4 times per year.
Education and Years of Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in marketing, events management or related field.
- 5 – 8 years of experience in events, convention, or trade show experience.
- 3 – 5 years of direct people leadership experience
Preferred:
- Experience setting up and assessing lead capture platforms and the ability to train others.
- Experience with event and project management software such as Exhibitforce, Cvent, Workfront, etc.
- Experience in healthcare or staffing industries.
We believe in fair compensation for all of our people, which is why our pay structure takes into account the cost of labor across U.S. geographic markets. For this position, we offer a pay range of $ 81,400 -- $197,100 annually, with pay varying depending on work location and job-related factors such as knowledge, position level and experience. CHG Healthcare offers starting salaries for sales positions in the form of total target compensation (TTC = base + commission + bonus), which includes base pay, commission, and bonuses. Sales positions receive short-term incentives through commission plans and bonuses. On the other hand, non-sales positions have starting salaries that consist of a base salary and short-term incentives through various bonus plans, which are paid out monthly, quarterly, or annually.
