Job description

Ursa Major is seeking a Senior Manager of Lifecycle Marketing to support our DTC channel. This person will design a holistic lifecycle marketing program to nurture customers through each stage of their journey with our brand. This role will work closely with our Senior Director of E-commerce to execute against our channel roadmap with the ultimate goal of driving customer retention, loyalty, and LTV. You will also collaborate closely with our creative and brand marketing teams to ensure a best-in-class brand experience at every customer touchpoint.

This role will require a deep understanding of user journeys, segmentation, and email/sms marketing. This person can leverage data and customer insights to develop and execute strategies that foster loyalty and drive the continued growth of our owned marketing channels. 


The right person for this role will have a mix of outstanding communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate has experience in high-growth, entrepreneurial environments and can tackle the day-to-day details while also managing larger projects from start to finish. You will also be responsible for managing external partners and building strong relationships with internal stakeholders.   

**This role is remote. We are headquartered in Vermont, with team members all over.

Requirements

  • Design and implement comprehensive lifecycle marketing strategies to nurture customers from prospects to loyal customers 
  • Map out our existing customer journeys and identify areas of opportunity; continuously refine as needed 
  • Plan, execute, and optimize multi-channel (email/sms) marketing campaigns and flows tailored to different customer segments 
  • Analyze customer data to identify key segments; develop targeted and personalized messages to keep customers engaged 
  • Develop and operationalize an A/B testing program across campaigns to continuously learn and optimize 
  • Monitor and report on lifecycle marketing KPIs and performance; ensure email/sms channel KPIs meet benchmarks for engagement, deliverability, etc.  
  • Benchmark existing retention initiatives against competitors; evaluate the opportunity for Ursa Major loyalty program
  • Collaborate with the customer experience, website, and paid marketing teams to improve and optimize the overall customer journey
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in lifecycle marketing
  • Manage direct report and external partner relationships

About You

  • 6+ years of experience in lifecycle / retention / email marketing, ideally at another DTC company 
  • Strong understanding of customer journey mapping and segmentation strategies 
  • Deep knowledge of email marketing platforms and email / SMS best practices  
  • Proficiency with flows and automations
  • Experience with subscription, referral and loyalty programs 
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with data analysis (GA, CRM Systems, BI tools) 
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines 
  • Keen eye for little details 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Quick problem solver; ability to remain calm in stressful situations 
  • Experience with Wunderkind a bonus 
  • Passion for clean skincare and outdoor activities is a bonus
