Job description

Department: 166 Cloud Services

Location: Remote, Ireland

Description

AWS Cloud Solution Architect is one of the most critical roles in SaaS Cloud Operations (CloudOps) teams. The position is responsible to provide a broad view of how EIS deploys customer environments into AWS and ensure those deployments they're as standard as possible using Infrastructure as Code (IoC) practices.

Understanding that EIS SaaS Platform uses a multi-cloud strategy, ideally this candidate while focused on AWS has a strong background in at least one other cloud platform such as Azure.

This position designs AWS solutions in cooperation with the customer, team leads, expert engineers as well as other relevant stakeholders in the company.

While this position focuses on AWS, EIS maintains a multi-cloud strategy which requires this position to have deep understanding how to best design AWS/Azure solutions that are standard as possible across all customers and across all cloud providers: solutions are generic/common as possible across different cloud providers and unified across all customers.

After releasing the initial solution, diagrams and documentation must be reviewed and discussed with stakeholders - and that these solutions are also regularly reviewed to ensure that they are current, secure and cost-effective.

Where customer-specific implementations are required, the architect ensures that any customer-specific solutions are documented fully and makes every effort to take full advantage of established best practices to ensure consistency across all customers.

Ideally this person holds AWS Architect Certifications (or similar).

  • Provide guidance and support to development teams in implementing cloud-based applications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex cloud infrastructure issues and performance bottlenecks.
  • Stay current with AWS service updates, new features, and emerging technologies.

On-Call Duty:

  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to provide support outside of regular business hours.
  • Respond to critical incidents and service outages promptly and effectively.
  • Work with the team to implement preventative measures and minimize downtime.
  • Provide support for urgent issues that arise in the cloud infrastructure during on-call periods.
