The Risk Manager will be responsible for identifying, analyzing, and mitigating risks associated with property management operations. This role involves overseeing and managing claims, developing and implementing risk management strategies, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and safeguarding the company's assets and reputation.

Essential Job Functions
- Oversee and manage all claims related to property damage, liability, and other risks. Work closely with insurance providers and assigned counsel to resolve claims effectively.
- Determine appropriate methods and extent of needed investigation for all assigned claims; manage all electronic discovery, complete interrogatories and document production requests, and manage legal documents and evidence.
- Assist in the development and implementation of litigation support strategies. Provide preliminary solutions to Executive Leadership.
- Analyze property incident reports to conduct comprehensive risk assessments; identify potential risks to the company's properties, operations, and financial stability.
- Investigate complex incidents and accidents on company properties, analyze root causes, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Ensure that all property management activities comply with local, state, and federal legal procedures and regulations. Stay updated and proactive on industry regulations and standards.
- Develop and implement risk management policies and procedures to mitigate identified risks and ensure compliance with legal requirements, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
- Work in conjunction with Elmington team members to deliver risk management training programs for staff and property managers to enhance awareness and adherence to risk management practices.
- Prepare and present risk management reports to senior management, including risk assessments, mitigation strategies, and incident analysis.
- Evaluate and manage third-party vendors to ensure they adhere to risk management standards and policies.
- Develop and maintain a crisis management plan to address potential emergencies or unforeseen events affecting properties and operations.
Specific Education Or Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., Certified Risk Manager (CRM), Associate in Risk Management (ARM)) is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in risk management, preferably within the property management or real estate industry.
- Advanced level knowledge in coverage, liability and damages analysis and has a thorough understanding of the litigation process.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines with an even-keeled approach and attitude.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in risk management software and tools.
- Knowledge of property management operations and related regulations.
- Relevant risk management certifications are preferred but not required.
