What Are We Looking For

We are searching for a M&A Specialist who will be working with our US based client. Our client is a technology innovator in the M&A advisor / business brokerage sector. In this role, you will be working closely with intermediaries to identify attractive businesses for sale, identify the right buyers through the companies proprietary technology, and manage the entire marketing and sales campaign process by building compelling materials, through delivery of qualified buyers to the intermediary.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mergers and acquisitions and possess a thorough understanding of the business brokerage industry.

Beyond your experience, we are also looking for someone who is professional and possesses impeccable written and verbal English communication. The candidate should be organized, have a bias for action and be extremely detail-oriented. The candidate will have a strong background in mergers and acquisitions and possess a thorough understanding of the M&A advisory / business brokerage industry.

This role is 100% work from home.

In This Role, You Will

Deal Sourcing & Evaluation

  • Collaborate with internal teams to source and evaluate attractive deals from both current intermediary customers and prospective new customers.
  • Assess the viability of such deals and obtain from the intermediary the marketing teaser and other offering materials and conduct any additional necessary diligence to determine the viability of target deals.

Buyer Identification & Outreach

  • Conduct market research and leverage the company's proprietary tools to identify potential buyers and build a comprehensive list.
  • Initiate and manage outreach campaigns to engage and qualify potential buyers.

Teaser Creation & Marketing Materials (HubSpot)

  • Create compelling and informative teasers (1 to 2 pages) to attract potential buyer pursuits.
  • Develop related marketing materials to support the M&A process.

Valuation Reports

  • Analyze profitability (EBITDA) and related business details (customer concentration, growth, etc.) and utilize parameters to update valuation reports for prospective businesses for sale.

Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with intermediaries, potential buyers, and other stakeholders.

M&A Process Support

  • Maintain and monitor accurate dashboard providing visibility into the progress of all deals being marketed, providing regular updates to senior management.
  • Assist in the preparation and execution of deal documentation and agreements.

About You

Core qualifications:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in M&A Specialist/Analyst or a similar role.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and creativity to identify and build a list of the likely potential strategic buyers of a given deal.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel for financial analysis, collateral creation, and reporting.
  • Organized - effectively manage a large number of deals simultaneously and related project timelines to ensure smooth operations.
  • Detail-oriented – Ensures accuracy in financial analysis, report preparation, and data input into valuation models.
  • Action-oriented – Ability to operate with minimal direction after training and onboarding, to continue proactively supporting customers.

Advantageous

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or related field preferred.
  • Experience with AI tools such as ChatGPT and Gemini.
  • Proficiency in HubSpot or similar CRM software.
