What You'll Do
Content Engineering team is looking for an experienced Scrum Lead. As a Scrum Lead to 3 teams, you will support the Technology group to ensure adherence to Agile Process and bring organizational structure, Agile disciplines, and day-to-day operational management to the teams. You will also partner with multiple Agile teams on their release efforts. You will be responsible for evangelizing Agile best practices by educating colleagues, coaching teams and collaborating with leaders on the Agile adoption strategy.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a Scrum Master to at least 3 teams to help build both next generation products and maintain the current product line
- Identifies challenges, creates awareness within team, organizes and facilitates all Scrum-related meetings
- Ability to understand the domain of large and complex software development
- Ensure proactive communication of project status to leadership through proper monitoring of Jira
- Actively brings attention to upstream and downstream dependencies impacting teams
- Provide daily monitoring and coach teams to embrace the Agile way in both spirit and practice
- Help teams to recognize and produce Agile artifacts
- Run Team level breakout sessions during SAFe PI Planning
- Organize Teams in Jira and maintain ticket hygiene
- Manage major/minor releases for the teams
- Creates engaging, fun, communicative and collaborative environment in meetings where Teams are geographically dispersed

What You'll Need to be Successful
Requirements / Qualifications
- 3+ years of Agile experiences in Scrum and Kanban with highly technical projects
- 3+ years in mid to large SaaS Product development
- 5+ years of total industry experience in software development, product
- management or Business Analysis
- 1+ years of implementing or working in SAFe framework
- Experience in Agile transformation at a Team level
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science
- Scrum Master Certification
Must Have:
- Understand spirit of Agile, and DevOps practices
- Understand implementation details of Scrum & Kanban
- Understand large scale project management
- Understand release planning, coordination, and management
- Have worked with a multi-team data dependency lifecycle environment
- Proficient in Jira, Confluence, and advanced filters

Content Engineering department within Avalara owns and develops platform and applications to process content that powers Avalara's products. The problems we solve are challenging and geographically diverse; we employ latest technologies in Cloud Computing, AI/ML and SRE to engineer robust and flexible solutions that solve problems at scale.
