Job description

Overview:

Cordoba Corporation is a leading engineering and design firm based in California. We are seeking a Permitting Coordinator to join our Electric sector and support electric utility infrastructure projects. As a Permitting Coordinator you will be supporting our project management team working closely with engineering, environmental, land services, construction, and various state and local agencies in the preparation, review, submittal and expediting of related permits.

Responsibilities:
  • Attends team and client work status meetings and records detailed meeting notes.
  • Participates in site assessment document reviews and attends design review meetings as needed.
  • Assembles, checks, and submits permit packages either directly or through client’s submittal personnel.
  • Expedites permit package preparation, award, re-issue throughout lifecycle of post design through energization and close-out.
  • Prepares, and as necessary, defend permit submittal including, but not limited to, access permits, both pre and post construction, traffic control, encroachment, roadway crossings both underground and overhead related to rural and urban locations highway, rail, and FAA permits, to ensure constructability reviews support strict compliance with all applicable state, local, and federal requirements and those locally interpreted.
  • Maintains interaction with both internal and client permit team, key stakeholders during initial design and engineering phases to ensure appropriate feedback and as/if necessary, modification to project parameters to ensure timely submittal and review or permit packages and their issuance.
  • Attends assigned permit bureau meetings related to assigned project area or discipline to maintain current and in-depth knowledge of permitting processes and changes.
  • Establishes and maintains cooperative and amicable relationships with client staff, public, development community, permitting agency staff, and others contacted during the course of work.
  • Informs team of all new and trending changes related to permitting process as local conditions.
  • Keeps up to date on agencies permitting processes.
Qualifications:
  • 1-2 years direct electric utility or underground infrastructure permitting experience (i.e., gas, pipeline, or water/sewer) required
  • High school diploma required; Bachelor’s or two-year degree preferred
  • Prior QA/QC review experience in a variety of document types such as reports, construction designs, permit applications & exhibits, etc. required
  • Ability to interpret/understand technically written documents and create, draft, and edit designs, meeting agendas/notes, and permitting applications required
  • Knowledge of and/or prior work with the Caltrans DSDD, EPE, & Encroachment application processes preferred
  • Proficiency using in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint
  • Proficiency using in KMZ review and creation via Google Earth Pro
  • Proficiency using Adobe Acrobat
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills as well as interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and highly focused environment
  • Flexible, adaptable to change and excellent problem-solving skills
  • Solid organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to guide teammates in permit processes

  

Pay Range: $25.00 - $50.00 per hour

 

Work Environment: Remote (residents in the Pacific time zone preferred)

 

Visa Sponsorship: Legal authorization to work in the U.S.A. on a full-time basis without sponsorship

 

Physical Requirements: Ability to pass a pre-authorized physical including a drug-screening and background check
