Job description

The HR Generalist, under the direction of the Manager, is responsible for the day-to-day HR administration for visa and immigration including the expatriate payroll, and general affairs for the Company. This position is an individual contributor, working alongside other HR generalists who also support companywide HR operations. This is a progressive and collaborative environment; therefore, it is essential that not only the skillset, but the passion for the above is a fit.

[Job Overview]

Essential Functions:

· Responsible for all VISA and Green Card administration which requires coordination with immigration attorney.

· Maintains employee’s benefit data and applies any changes to payroll and benefits in a timely manner.

· Coordinate between partner companies for expatriate agreements and terms.

· Ensure a smooth onboarding and settling-in for local hire visa candidates as well as expatriate new hires.

· Analyzes, prepares, and reviews expatriate payroll accurately with applicable knowledge of various deductions (pre/post tax) local, state, and federal tax requirement and gross-up calculations.

· Monitor non-exempt employee’s hours, time off, and other time and attendance issues.

· Support the department with onboarding and orientation of all employees, contractors, and temporary workers.

· Maintain records and prepare documentation to maintain governmental and legal compliance.

· Maximize productivity and efficiency through document management and assist in developing new policies and procedures.

· Performs various office administrative and clerical tasks for HR department including company asset management, IT asset management, company car administration, certificates of insurances, receiving and shipping mail for USPS and FedEx, and scanning mail to appropriate persons.

· Manage any HR/Admin related documents and data.

· First level of high and effective customer service support for employee inquiries to include but not limited to benefits, and policy interpretation.

· Provide support to HR team and HR management as needed.

Requirements:

· Bachelor's degree Human Resources, Business Administration or equivalent experience of 3-8 years in a Human Resources professional related role

· Bilingual Japanese/English is preferred, with strong English communication.

· Minimum of 3 years of HR working experience in visas/immigration, and green card administration.

· Experienced in payroll processing with or without payroll software.

· Current knowledge of HR topics, including but not limited to federal and local regulatory laws and practices.

· Displays leadership and decision-making skills

· Act with integrity and professionalism

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.

· Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail

· Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.

· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PPT, and TEAMs)

· Ability to maintain the highest degree of confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive information.

Supervisory Responsibility:

· This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
