Breakfast Television is looking for a dynamic, creative, energetic and passionate director to take Canada’s best morning show into a new era of quality television. As an experienced Director reporting to the Supervising Producer, you know how to deliver a stellar TV production. As a proven TV professional, you know how to emphasize creativity over tradition, and work with ongoing challenges in a live environment for a four-hour local and national show. You are in charge of what viewers at home see each day, and you are a born leader who can guide a production team through ongoing change and challenges in a live environment.

What You'll Do...
- Responsible for executing live and pre-recorded productions in a fully equipped control room
- Work with TD, Line Producer, Production Assistant and Audio operator in control room
- Build strong relationships with floor staff and camera operators in studio
- Clearly and concisely communicate vision of show to team
- Works to elevate the production of Breakfast Television through creative vision and technical expertise
- Execute the overall vision of the show as directed by show producers
- Works directly with talent in-show, clearly communicating direction and flow, and responding to their creative ideas (sometimes with quick turnaround)
- Cue live sources in the field as required
- Ability to act as crew leader
- Other duties as required
- Ensure that programs and segments meet company and industry standards for content and quality
What You'll Have...
- Experience directing live studio productions
- A strong understanding of all control room positions and creative/technical aspects of show production
- Understanding and experience in floor management, camera placement, and presentation
- Experience in writing and production an asset
- Ability to multi-task and deal with intense pressure of a five-hour show
- Ability to adhere to, and work within, very tight timelines
- Ability to work early mornings
- Ability to troubleshoot
- Strong leadership skills
- Ability to work well with others and as a strong team member
