ABOUT THE ROLE
The Pharmaceutical Support Coordinator is responsible for day-to-day support of both internal and external stakeholders in order to provide world-class customer service in our efforts to quickly and effectively treat as many patients as possible.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as a liaison between specific Pharmaceutical manufacturers, Providers, Patients, and IVX Operations to ensure excellent delivery of services
- Develop positive working relationship with Pharmaceutical Support Services (HUBs) that participate in the IVX Health Provider Service Organization
- Identify and catalog Referring Providers’ preferred method of communication
- Notify Referring Providers’ when patients have been successfully onboarded with IVX Health and ensuring post-treatment communications are occurring back to provider office for in-scope drugs / patients
- As required, works alongside Program Manager to ensure referring providers and pharmaceutical case managers are educated and involved as needed for outstanding prior authorization, benefit, patient monitoring, and general continuum of care patient needs.
- Perform welcome call to patient, including advanced educational components around specific participating biologic therapies, the process, clinical counseling, and financial counselling (copay assistance). Perform warm transfers to pharmaceutical counselors as required.
- Leverage clinical expertise to respond to and resolve clinical inquiries from referring providers and internal sales / operations colleagues
- As required by manufacturer, may assist in coordinating intake and prior authorization tasks related to the specific medications the coordinator supports
- As required by manufacturer, may assist in eliminating barriers regarding insurance requirements and medical policy, medical records, drug label, and prior authorization requirements
- Clearly document all case specific communication and activity in appropriate systems
- Regionally assigned to patient populations, and as required covers multiple customers’ needs in other IVX Operating regions as required
- Partners effectively with other internal departments, specifically: Prior Authorization, Pre-Registration, Business Development, Field Operations and Clinical Staff

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED required
- Graduate of an accredited school of Medical Assisting or completion of an approved program (BOTP) is required
- 3 years’ experience working in hospital or clinical service access, physician office scheduling, or similar role
WAGE RANGE
Pay is based on a number of factors including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience and is benchmarked against similar organizations to our size and industry. For our Pharmaceutical Support Coordinator role, we generally pay new hires between $18.00 and $24.00 per hour. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for roles and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each situation. In addition to cash pay, full-time regular positions are eligible for 401(k), health benefits, and other company benefits; some of these benefits may also be available for part-time positions.
