What We Are Looking For
The CNC Convergence, Intelligence team works with Cisco Networking groups focused on Meraki, and broadly across Cisco to build and deliver product experiences that are enabled by technologies like AI, ML and GenAI. As a Content Designer your expertise will propel you to work through ambiguous challenges with up-and-coming technologies, using language to help clearly communicate, amplify our products abilities, and deliver customer value through time savings and unique only Cisco insights.
In this role, you’ll play a critical role in shaping the future of multimodal conversation design across our various customer touch points, working closely with research, product, engineering and marketing teams. You will be responsible for conceptualizing, illustrating, building, and delivering innovative conversational and natural language interaction frameworks. You should be a self-motivated problem solver with impeccable communication skills. Your work will seek to understand how language is perceived by the customer, and how we can use it to help our customers be successful.
Our team's primary focus is on software, but we also find opportunities to collaborate with teams across the organization and think about how to improve the entire customer journey. Responsibilities
- Design multimodal conversational experiences that are intuitive, engaging, and aligned with business objectives and technical capabilities.
- Work across platform and across organizations to ensure that language is used consistently across customer touchpoints.
- Lead the development of content plans in conjunction with product roadmaps.
- Contribute to the team’s overall understanding of our products and user behavior, specifically from a narrative perspective.
- Advocate for the Cisco Networking & Meraki brand, voice and tone across the products, working in close partnership with Marketing and Brand teams.
- Is hands on with writing and editing copy through strategic planning to delivery of day-to-day deliverables, including creative briefs, copydecks, and content audits.
- Partner closely with designers and researchers to ensure a usable, easily understandable digital product that is simple to use. Continuously experiment and gather insights to refine conversation design and improve user experience.
- Earn trust with cross-function partners by seeking out their points of view, collaborating regularly and invite them into research and co-creation with the team and customers. Advocate for prioritization of design-centered product enhancements grounded in research and analysis.
- Think beyond your team's goals and consider how your work affects others and how you can influence other teams’ work.
- Influence the strategic vision and design of large, complex initiatives for a product, program or strategic effort of considerable size and scope.
- Translate what may start as ambiguous business needs into clear customer-focused solutions.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements to LLMs to inform conversation design decisions.
You're an ideal candidate if you have:
- 6+ years of professional experience in conversation design, content design, UX content strategy or UX writing working in cross-functional teams from strategy to delivery.
- Experience in designing conversational interfaces for chatbots, agents, copilots, voice assistants or related work. Familiarity with LLMs and their applications.
- Strong systems thinking and the ability to apply content design across a large ecosystem.
- Experience in the creation, rollout, and adoption of modular content systems focused on personalization and segmentation needs.
- The ability to develop and present narratives, create strong partnerships, and build support for the team.
- Knowledge of the networking domain experience in a related product or field, is a plus.
- Experience working on technically complex B2B enterprise or B2C products
- A proven track record of shipping large scale products.
- Ability to see the bigger picture, while zooming in to rationalize and perfect the nuanced details.
- Made complex problems and workflows feel simple and approachable.
- Balanced strategic research and discovery with shipping often.
- Persuasive storytelling and strong communication skills.

U.S. employees have access to quality medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance and numerous wellbeing offerings. Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday, plus a day off for their birthday. Employees accrue up to 20 days of Paid Time Off (PTO) each year and have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues without tapping into their PTO. We offer additional paid time to volunteer and give back to the community. Employees are also able to purchase company stock through our Employee Stock Purchase Program.
Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco pays at the standard rate of 1% of incentive target for each 1% revenue attainment against the quota up to 100%. Once performance exceeds 100% quota attainment, incentive rates may increase up to five times the standard rate with no cap on incentive compensation. For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
