About the Position
Speedinvest’s Finance team is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Finance to lead their financial operations and contribute to their growth and success. As Head of Finance, you will oversee the Finance, Portfolio Controlling, and Fund Reporting teams, ensuring efficient financial management, information towards multiple stakeholders (management, investors, auditors, regulators), and compliance across all our operations. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in finance, ideally with previous touchpoints in the venture capital, private equity, or investment sector.
Your Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the Finance & Accounting, Portfolio Controlling, and Fund Reporting teams, setting goals and ensuring high performance
  • Manage the day-to-day finances, including budgeting, forecasting as well as accounting and audit of a regulated alternative investment fund manager
  • Steer the financial operations of over 30 investment vehicles by managing liquidity, supervising capital calls and distributions and financial reporting 
  • Develop and implement financial and tax strategies (e.g. Meldefonds) that align with the fund’s goals and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure compliance with financial/tax regulations and standards across all operations with emphasis on Austria, Germany and USA (Fatca)
  • Drive projects with and furnish information to multiple stakeholders including regulators, service providers, tax advisors and auditors
  • Maintain strong relationships with investors, providing transparent and accurate financial reporting and insights
  • Collaborate with other senior leaders to support Speedinvest’s strategic ventures and investments
  • Drive continuous improvements in financial processes and integration of systems for efficient operations
Your Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • At least 7 years of experience in finance and accounting, with a preference for experience in venture capital, private equity, or investment management with a fund or a service provider (e.g. Big Four Audit and Consulting)
  • Proven experience in leading and managing diverse international teams
  • Strong understanding of fund management, financial reporting, and compliance in the investment sector is beneficial
  • A team player comfortable in a fast-moving environment with an entrepreneurial mindset
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and leadership skills
  • Proficient in financial software (BMD), Excel/Google Sheets, and BI-solutions; familiarity with investment management platforms is a plus
  • Experience with Austrian Accounting (UGB), asset valuation (IPEV) and (fund) taxation
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all levels of the organization and external stakeholders
  • German and English proficiency is a must

According to Austrian law, we are required to state a minimum salary for this position. The expected minimum salary for this role is €100.000,00 gross annually. The salary will be a competitive package based on previous work experience, hence overpayment is possible.
