The Opportunity: 

Open to remote - Some travel required

The EAI Solution Architect/tech lead is responsible for the architecture, design, and governance of Enterprise Integration solutions. This position plays a key role in Middleware Solutions Delivery by providing both strategic and tactical leadership to integration solution within Mattel.  The duties for this position include but are not limited to project leadership, managing integration framework, API, Service development and governance processes, ensuring quality delivery of solution, and review/approval of core design and architectural processes within the EAI across multiple technologies and projects.

What Your Impact Will Be: 

  • Architect, design, and govern business process definitions following Service Oriented Architecture principles and methodologies.
  • Drive a variety of projects/initiatives across the enterprise as an Integration Architect ensuring that the EAI solutions are architected and governed appropriately.
  • Lead the EAI development team in the design, development, and deployment of integration solutions.
  • Conduct technical analysis and feasibility studies for proposed integrations.
  • Select and implement appropriate EAI tools and technologies, such as API gateways, middleware platforms, and data transformation tools. 
  • Develop and maintain reusable integration components and libraries.
  • Stay up to date on the latest EAI trends and technologies.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for EAI solutions.
  • Ensure integration design is aligned with standards and best practices and architectural vision.
  • Engage global IT resources when deemed appropriate for solutions that require complex and cross functional technology solutions.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams, such as application teams, infrastructure, and operations, to ensure successful integration implementation.
  • Forecast and provision cloud infrastructure and resources.
  • Establish & maintain relationships with vendors and other departments.
  • Manage and execute against project timelines associated with technology efforts.
  • Provide management with an integrated perspective, assessing risks and the effects of specific requirements on other processes and system priorities; ensure any proposed technology solutions are appropriately aligned with overall strategy.
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills, possess the ability to communicate with various levels of management.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with integrations.
  • Mentor and coach junior EAI developers, guide technical discussions.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of EAI governance policies and procedures.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and SAFe Framework

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For: 

  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline with an IT focus is preferred
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise application integration, architecture, and design, focusing on best practices and system development approaches
  • Led 5+ major implementations at the architect level.
  • Expertise in API-led design, microservices architecture, and service lifecycle governance
  • Advanced programming skills in Node.js/TypeScript, with additional experience in Python and Bash scripting
  • Proficiency with cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including hands-on experience with GCP services (Firestore, Cloud Functions, Cloud Tasks)
  • Strong background in cloud-based environments, including Kubernetes,  Docker, YAML, GIT
  • Experience with API gateways (e.g., Gloo, Google API Gateway) and integration protocols (REST, JSON, JMS, HTTP/HTTPS, SOAP)
  • Hands on experiences with web services, messaging systems (e.g., Confluent Kafka, JMS, MQ). Data streaming and event driven architecture
  • Hands on Experience with GitLab CI/CD and performance tuning
  • Experience with enterprise systems such as Oracle ERP, eCommerce, Custom DEV, and Content Management Systems a plus
  • Excellent facilitation skills with business users, business leaders, technology peers and outsourced resources
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving and code-review skills
  • Strong communication, technical design documentation, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment across multiple projects and technologies
  • Demonstrated a growth mindset by staying curious and continuously learning, embracing challenges, and improving themselves

The annual base salary range for this position is between $170,000 and $200,000
**This range is indicative of projected hiring range, however annual base salary will be determined based on a candidate’s work location, skills and experience.
