Position Overview
The Salesforce Solution Architect (SA) is a pre-sales professional, responsible for solution development in support of the Salesforce practice under Enterprise Cloud Applications pillar engagements in collaboration with TEKsystems sales partners.
The SA will be the primary driver for identifying, scoping, and creating solutions/proposals that encompasses detailed scope, technical approach, estimates, implementation approach, team structure, pricing, assumptions, and other contracts related details.
The SA will bring thought leadership, current industry know-how, and applied solutions to improve existing service capabilities, engagement and delivery challenges, and any research and development activities.
Leadership and in-depth knowledge of the following would be required:
• Salesforce ecosystem, especially Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Salesforce CPQ, FSL and other functional areas of Salesforce
o Industry Cloud experience in Health Cloud, Financial Services Cloud, or Manufacturing/CPG/Energy a plus
• Advisory, roadmap consulting as well as delivery of services in the practice’s areas of expertise
• Prior hands-on experience in being in a pre-sales role and owning solution and estimation is a must
• Prior successful track record of pre-sales and solutioning with acceptable close rate is a must
• Excellent MS PowerPoint, MS Word, MS Excel, and other MS office suite tools skills is required
• Prior hands-on delivery experience - someone who has moved up the ranks in the career path from admin/developer to solution architect role
• Experience working with global delivery teams in distributed environments in North America and India
Responsibilities
• Meet with customers to understand business needs and map them to technical solutions
• Outline solutions, including solution approach, diagrams, team member work estimates, timelines, and costs to build the solutions you create
• Own solution roadmap, planning, estimation, and initial delivery efforts through assessment
and recommendations for successful delivery
• Participate in RFx Responses and own response areas
• Work with Sales and Contract teams on Statements of Work to ensure the proposed solution is translated to contracts
• Collaborate with account executives to provide the technical sales support to close deals
• Coordinate with our delivery teams on project team members and assignment of the right teams to fit our customer need
• Work closely with Salesforce practice and ensure there is an agreement on final solutioning, team structure, and pricing
• Determine if our services are a fit for customers’ business requirement and direct them to the appropriate consulting practices within our organization
• Contribute to the outcomes in opportunity pursuits in landing, expanding, and protecting business across verticals
• Collaborate with practices on continued evolution of service offerings, presales & go-to market collaterals, such as case study support, account profiling, client presentations design, etc.
Key Skills and Experience
• Strong understanding of Salesforce product suite and its ecosystem
• 5 or more years of experience designing and implementing solutions in sales cloud, service cloud, communities / experience cloud, marketing cloud, and general Salesforce platform applications
• 3 or more years of experience designing and implementing solutions in at least one of following areas (strongly preferred):
o CPQ
o Health Cloud
o Financial Services Cloud
o Field Services Lightning
o Manufacturing/CPG
o Energy Cloud
• Experience with designing and implementing solutions in Pardot or Commerce cloud is a plus
• Successful track record delivering varied size of Salesforce projects for enterprise customers
• Successful track record in being pre-sales roles and owning overall solutioning
• 5 or more years of experience in leading pre-sales efforts and owning solution, estimation, and overall proposal development, including clearly defining scope, overall solution approach, high level reference architecture, team structure, and pricing
• Demonstrated ability to successfully negotiate and close complex contracts
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
• Experience with Agile delivery model (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, etc.) and working with Agile tools
• Timeliness, reliability, accuracy, dependability, and consistency in performance is a must
• Be able to produce artifacts quickly with high accuracy and without any supervision
• Must be a self-starter and be able to work collaboratively with multiple practice areas
Qualifications & Education
• A technical bachelor's degree (Computer Science, Information Technology/Systems)
• 5 or more years of hands-on experience as a Salesforce Solution Architect or equivalent role
• 5 or more years of experience in Solution development/presales
• 5 or more years of consulting experience, including gathering requirements and collaborating with clients to implement technical designs
• Ability to travel to client locations to deliver professional services, as needed
• Preferred experience & certifications (2 or more of following or equivalent certifications):
o Salesforce Certified Administrator
o Salesforce Certified Advanced Administrator
o Salesforce Certified Sales Cloud Consultant
o Salesforce Certified Service Cloud Consultant
o Salesforce Certified Experience Cloud Consultant
o Salesforce Certified Marketing Cloud Consultant
o Salesforce Certified CPQ Specialist
o Salesforce Certified Field Services Lightning Consultant
