Position: Director of Accounting - Remote | WFH

Overview

We are actively seeking an accomplished Director of Accounting to join our innovative team. This pivotal role is designed for individuals who are passionate about accounting and eager to lead a team toward excellence in financial processes. As a Director of Accounting, you will be integral in overseeing our accounting policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and managing the month-end closing activities. Your collaboration with executive leadership, including the CFO, will enable you to shape high-level financial decisions that drive the organization's success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Spearhead the month-end and year-end closing processes, guaranteeing punctual and precise financial reporting.
  • Generate and analyze comprehensive financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external auditors to facilitate annual audits and prepare financial statements.
  • Partner with the Controller to refine financial operations, enhancing accuracy and efficiency.
  • Implement and uphold internal controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations for correctness and ensure appropriate recording of financial transactions.
  • Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations, including tax filings.
  • Lead and mentor the accounting and accounts payable teams, fostering their professional growth and development.
  • Manage the monthly revenue close process in compliance with ASC 606, preparing necessary journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Conduct research and document accounting positions for complex transactions, providing insights on potential agreements.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting; CPA designation is required.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in public accounting, including experience with SEC clients.
  • Profound knowledge of ASC 606 Revenue, US GAAP, FASB, and SEC reporting standards.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with financial systems implementation.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and a track record of managing teams effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to convey financial data to both finance and non-finance professionals.
  • Detail-oriented, ethical, and possessing excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet stringent deadlines.
