Job description

Position Title: Remote Faculty Positions in Public Health Education

We are excited to invite applications for three full-time faculty positions at various ranks: Assistant Instructor, Instructor, and Assistant Professor, to contribute to our dynamic academic team. This program was established to combat the public health workforce shortage by providing a comprehensive online, applied, accessible, affordable, and competency-based educational experience. With a strong commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration and excellence in public health, our program is housed within a prestigious academic institution.

Since its inception in 2008, this innovative program has expanded significantly, growing from 18 students and 9 courses to over 200 current students and more than 700 alumni. We take pride in our role in cultivating public health professionals capable of making a substantial impact both locally and globally.

Program Mission and Vision

Our vision is to eradicate health disparities and achieve health equity for diverse populations at local and global levels. Our mission is to foster advancements in public health through practice-oriented instruction, pioneering research, and impactful community partnerships that advocate for health equity. We focus on nurturing leadership and encouraging community engagement while generating interest in public health careers through our online introductory courses for undergraduates and non-public health professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver graduate-level courses in a fully online format
  • Mentor and support students in their academic journeys
  • Engage in academic committees and faculty meetings (both remote and in-person as necessary)
  • Participate in collaborative research initiatives alongside fellow professionals
  • Cultivate community partnerships in alignment with the program’s mission

Required Skills

  • Expertise in Rural Health
  • Proficiency in Data Management, Analytics, and Informatics
  • In-depth knowledge of Public Health Research Methods & Program Design
  • Familiarity with Health Policy
  • Strong dedication to enhancing student success and academic excellence

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated public health practice experience with leadership or community partnership involvement
  • Proven record of teaching graduate-level courses in an online setting, particularly in public health
  • Commitment to academic excellence and student achievement

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree for Assistant Instructor rank
  • Master's degree for Instructor rank
  • DrPH, PhD, or a related doctoral degree from an accredited institution for Assistant Professor rank

Work Environment

This role is designated as remote-friendly, enabling successful candidates to perform their duties from various locations based on mutual agreement. While not required to be physically on campus, active participation in academic activities is expected.
