Job Title: Gameplay Engineer
Location: Canada (Remote - Within Pacific Time Zone (PST) to Eastern Time Zone (EST))
Rate: $55-$60 per hour CAD

About the Role:
We are seeking a talented Gameplay Engineer with a solid foundation in game development to design, build, and maintain robust gameplay systems. You'll be collaborating closely with designers, artists, and engineers to refine game mechanics throughout the development cycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and architect new game systems in alignment with project goals.
  • Refine and improve gameplay systems throughout the development cycle to enhance user experience.
  • Work closely with designers, artists, and other engineers for feature development and implementation.
  • Write clear, maintainable, and portable code while following industry best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and debug gameplay issues to ensure smooth and responsive performance.
  • Contribute to developing and enhancing content creation tools and workflows.

What You Bring:

  • 3-5+ years of experience in game development in a Gameplay Engineer role.
  • Robust programming skills in C++ with strong architecture, system design, and analytical skills.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to collaborate effectively and communicate clearly.
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable, and portable code.
  • Strong debugging skills to quickly identify and resolve complex gameplay issues.
  • Must be available to work within the Pacific Time Zone (PST) to Eastern Time Zone (EST).

Desired Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of Modern C++ Standards and best practices.
  • Strong math skills (Linear Algebra, Vector Math, Probability) for gameplay system development.
  • Prior experience developing content creation tools in collaboration with tools engineers and designers.
  • Experience developing games for multiple platforms (PC, Xbox, etc.).
