POSITION SUMMARY:
Clearway Health (CH) provide specialty pharmacy services to serve the complex pharmacy and medication needs of health-systems and patients nationwide. Clearway Health will provide patients who require specialty drugs a comprehensive service program that includes an on-site pharmacy staffed with a care team that includes: Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, and Pharmacy Liaisons. Under the direction of the Chief Pharmacy Officer, the Director of Pharmacy Operations is responsible for supporting the design, development, construction and operations of retail, specialty, infusion and ambulatory pharmacy programs at our health-system partner sites. In doing so, the Sr. Director of Pharmacy Operations will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Federal and State laws and regulations, and accreditation standards. Furthermore, the Sr. Director of Pharmacy Operations will be responsible for optimizing all operations to meet pre-determined health-system and Clearway quality, safety and financial goals and metrics.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert for all retail, specialty, infusion and ambulatory pharmacy operations, programs and services.
- Oversee strategic planning pertaining to retail, specialty, infusion and ambulatory pharmacy services to better serve the needs of our health-system partners and patients while supporting Clearway’s goals and priorities.
- Lead the processes of designing, developing and building of specialty pharmacies, infusion centers and ambulatory pharmacy programs.
- Lead the implementation team and processes and ensure smooth and effective program implementations at client sites, on time and on budget.
- Lead the accreditation team and processes and ensure the readiness of all pharmacies and programs for (re) accreditation audits and visits.
- Support the operations of all pharmacy programs
- Conduct on-site assessments to evaluate retail and specialty pharmacy operations, identifying areas for improvement or optimization and allocating necessary resources to develop action plans and execute improvement plans based on assessed needs for new pharmacy implementations or renovations at client sites.
- Partner cross-functionally on future expansion opportunities within Clearway Health service lines and client sites.
- Collaborate with quality managers and strategists to provide expertise in developing company and site-level strategies for on-site pharmacy operations, considering quality, service, and efficiency.
- Possess strong working knowledge of Pharmacy applications and specialty operations and therapy processes.
- Respond to Leadership inquiries, determining the proper course of action and delegating tasks as appropriate.
- Establish and optimize reporting and dashboards for managing pharmacy operations at Clearway Health client sites.
- Engage in departmental activities, taking ownership of team decisions and supporting organizational initiatives.
- Uphold the highest ethical standards, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Maintain adherence to accreditation standards, organizational policies, and procedures.
- Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the 340B drug program, insurance navigation, and pharmacy liaison workflows.
- Assist in quality and process improvement activities, including accreditation-related tasks.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies such as JCAHO, CMS, HRSA, OSHA, and national professional organizations.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s or Pharm D degree in Pharmacy is required
- Master’s degree in pharmacy, healthcare management or business administration is required
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:
- Licensure to practice pharmacy in at least one state is required.
EXPERIENCE:
- 10+ years of relevant experience in the retail, specialty and ambulatory pharmacy is required.
- 5+ years of leadership experience is required.
- Proficiency in EMR/EMR systems is highly desired.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Thorough understanding and proficient execution of pharmacy procedures, systems, and equipment in outpatient/retail/specialty settings.
- Prior oversight experience in pharmacy-related aspects.
- Strong analytical skills to assess and enhance current pharmacy services through evaluative research.

Special Working Conditions (On-call, travel, shift, coverage):
- Travel as required to new, existing, or potential client sites for onsite pharmacy assessments, engaging with customers, site leaders, operational employees, pharmacists, and clinical staff to formulate optimization action plans.
