Role Essentials  
The Director of Affinity & Charter Sales will develop strategies, marketing plans, and programs to drive new and profitable partnerships while growing existing affinity relationships to increase revenue and drive continued business development.  
 
This position requires a self-motivated individual with excellent communication skills, a passionate brand ambassador who is deeply familiar with charter and group sales within the expedition travel arena, and someone able to multi-task with the highest level of efficiency in a fast-paced sales and service environment. 

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and coordinate a profitable sales strategy and marketing plan to help Lindblad Expeditions reach and exceed sales goals 
  • Grow group/charter sales through new and existing business to hit quarterly, semi-annual, and annual targets.  
  • Identify and develop untapped markets /opportunities and grow affinity /charter business 
  • Negotiate terms and close sales  
  • Establish a successful cold-calling plan to drivedemonstrable group/charter leads  
  • Generate weekly sales reports to give leadership visibility into the Affinity team’s progress and achievements  
  • Represent our company at educational, travel,incentive conferencesand events 
  • Accompany partners during on-board ship site inspections  
  • Maintain high visibility through sales calls, webinars, and ship site inspections 
  • Travel for events and sales calls as needed 
  • Perform other duties as required 

  • MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • 3+ years travel industry-specific sales experience in group or charter sales with strong track record of successful sales and business growth 
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and with others in a fast-paced team environment 
  • Strong decision-making skills and self-driven problem-solving mindset 
  • Outstanding attention to detail in communications, plans, and deliverables 
  • Ability to manage projects with multiple tracks 
  • Proven success developing clear action plans using demonstrated organizational, communication, and relationship development skills  
  • Must be able to travel and work remotely

  • BA/BS degree 
  • Proficient using all programs in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint),  
  • Salesforce experience

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS 
    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk and hear.  The employee will also be required to write and type.  The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.  

    COMPENSATION STATEMENT
    Lindblad Expeditions determines the pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data. We evaluate external equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company. Our posted salary range is based on national data and may be refined for a candidate's region/town/cost of living.

    For new hires, we strive to make competitive offers allowing the new employee room for future growth. Salaries will be based on the applicant’s location, level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge and skills. An employee/candidate with a stronger skill set will receive higher pay.
