We are seeking a seasoned Principal DevOps Architect to deepen our DevOps culture by improving automation, observability, driving continuous improvement across the software development lifecycle. As a key member of the Technology Operations leadership team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and leading the evolution of our DevOps strategy, fostering collaboration between engineering, cloud operations, and security teams.
Design and implement a robust, scalable, and secure DevOps environment that aligns with business objectives
Partner with software engineering and product development teams to understand their needs and translate them into an efficient CI/CD pipeline
Lead the selection, integration, and optimization of DevOps tools and technologies, including CI/CD platforms (Jenkins), infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (CloudFormation), configuration management tools, and containerization technologies
Establish and enforce architectural standards, guidelines, best practices, and frameworks to maintain consistency and quality across projects and systems
Champion Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices to ensure infrastructure is provisioned, configured, and managed in a consistent and repeatable manner
Lead cross-functional collaboration efforts between operations and infrastructure teams to design and build secure and reliable infrastructure solutions that support the DevOps process
Continuously monitor and analyze system performance metrics (Nagios, New Relic), identifying bottlenecks and implementing improvements for optimized delivery
Champion a culture of collaboration and shared responsibility between engineering, cloud operations, and security teams
Mentor cloud operations engineers, fostering continuous learning and knowledge sharing within the team
Stay current with the latest DevOps trends and technologies, proactively proposing and evaluating new tools and methodologies
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for the DevOps architecture and processes
8+ years of experience in DevOps principles and practices
Proven track record of successfully designing and implementing DevOps strategies in a complex environment
In-depth knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, IaC tools, configuration management tools, containerization technologies, and infrastructure automation
Strong understanding of software development lifecycles and methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.)
Experience with Jenkins, Cloudformation, Terraform, AWS ECS, and ephemeral environments
Experience with security best practices in a DevOps environment
Experience working collaboratively with software engineering, product development, and cloud operations teams
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
Ability to think strategically and translate business needs into technical solutions
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Above is the annualized pay range for this position. In addition, this position includes the opportunity to earn our annual Performance Based Variable Pay Program. Actual salary will be set based upon a range of factors, including external benchmark market data, individual knowledge, skills, experience, location and internal equity.
