As legal and judicial agencies transition to a technology-driven workflow, VIQ Solutions leads in providing transcription services across various industries. We are on the lookout for experienced legal and judicial contract candidates with significant experience transcribing depositions and hearings. This role offers a 100% remote opportunity for independent contractors.

Your responsibilities will include processing audio recordings that cover depositions, hearings, and other judicial proceedings with intense attention to detail. Familiarity with legal terminology and excellent grammar is essential as you produce verbatim transcripts while strictly adhering to style guides.

As an independent contractor for VIQ Solutions, enjoy the flexibility of setting your own schedule while receiving support from our in-office team whenever needed. We have work available around the clock, making it convenient to fit any schedule, and those with weekend availability are especially encouraged to apply.

Skills And Requirements

  • Experience with court reporting, scoping or legal transcription required.
  • Excellent listening skills.
  • Adherence to deadlines and client-specific style guides.
  • Outstanding literacy skills, including comprehension, spelling, and grammar.
  • Ability to collaborate remotely.
  • Typing proficiency in both speed and accuracy.
  • Ability to process extreme audio/text content (content may be offensive).
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Familiarity with legal terminology.
  • Court reporting students will also be considered.
