POSITION SUMMARY

As the Vice President of Security, Facilities and EHS, you will have the opportunity to develop, set strategy and oversee the following: 

  • Create a centralized management for AirLife's global businesses’ needs focused on Security, EHS and Facilities through a trained professional (EHS, Facilities and Security Manager).
  • Implement a robust program based on corporate guidance and local regulation requirements and develop comprehensive information gathering capability to monitor and manage the company assets and prevent liabilities.
  • Oversight of personnel, programs, and expenditures.
  • Accountability for developing and implementing new programs projects, local and corporate policies, and incident prevention programs applicable to EHS, Facilities, and Security.
  • Strengthening of the liaison / relationship between AirLife and Service Providers.
  • Crisis Management, Business Continuity program implementation and update.
  • Risk assessment in response to threats as a preventive measure.
  • Promote Security, EHS and Facilities as a strategic business unit and enabler of doing business in the country.
  • Safeguarding of confidential information with the business leaders for implementing security and safety plans and conducting preventive plans and actions.
  • Professionalization of the security operations and services at all levels within the organization, in alignment with corporate expectations and recognized best practice standards.
  • Strengthening of the liaison / relationship between AirLife and service contractors.
  • Adaptation and implementation of a pro-active, holistic security culture that will reduce company liability, enhance communication, and protect the reputation of the company and its employees.
  • Development of a comprehensive information-gathering capability that will facilitate perceiving societal, political, and economic issues, threats and trends that could negatively impact AirLife operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Security:

  • Directs and manages the Security Program, including personnel, budget, and other resources, for the protection of AirLife operations globally, focusing on the protection of assets, people, reputation, and information.
  • Supports new projects from the security management initiative, and the initiatives of Global Security by conducting investigations, assessments, and evaluations of risks factors for the design and implementation of policies, procedures, and programs.   
  • Develops and maintains a Security Master Plan to support the integration of new security technology.
  • Coordinates the implementation of new security projects technology compatible with existing resources.   
  • Ensures proper management and development of a security budget.
  • Maintains an excellent relationship with local and/or federal law enforcement agencies and security provider companies.
  • Supports investigative efforts.
  • Maintains a database for report of incident and provides Operational Leadership with data of serious incidents through adequate plan development that respond to contingencies in the country.
  • Support the safety and security of employees during daily duties when determined and/or required.
  • Develop, implement and keep updated the Crisis Management, Business Continuity and Security plans.
  • Conducts risk assessments and evaluations for implementing specific action plans.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Provide oversight to all Security staff members for the day-to-day security operations globally.

EHS:

  • Implement and ensure an effective and comprehensive enterprise-wide EHS Management System to comply with internal standards and local regulations requirements.
  • Align with global leaders to ensure all the applicable procedures and policies are implemented accordingly through monthly meetings.
  • Establish and maintain a written EHS Program that includes a clear endorsement of AirLife’s EHS Policy (EHS Policy and Program, Strategic Planning, Risk Assessment/Self-Assessment, Business Integration, Training and Awareness, Performance Measures) and technical standards (Dangerous Goods & Hazardous Materials, Waste Management, Emergency Preparedness Planning, Significant EHS Incident Planning) outlining the organization’s program elements, EHS goals, priorities, and resources.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable governmental EHS laws and regulations.
  • Establish the organization’s EHS responsibility structure to ensure plan development, implementation, and continuous improvement are aligned with the AirLife EHS strategic plan.
  • Evaluate regulatory self-assessments, risk assessments, assurance reviews and other appropriate sources annually to identify future priorities to be incorporated into the strategic plan.
  • Integrate EHS concepts into business/operations planning and decision making.
  • Implement the EHS training system that ensures that employees and managers are trained in the relevant EHS responsibilities for their job duties as required by the AirLife EHS policies. 
  • Implement the Safe driving program.

Facilities:

  • Supervise the maintenance programs of AirLife facilities, tracking performance with monthly maintenance metrics.
  • Continually evaluates ticket status and maintenance needs with long term strategic objectives.
  • Work closely with AirLife Legal and Compliance teams organization to ensure Lease and all facilities corporate requirements are followed, applicable and updated.
  • In partnership with Legal and Finance, conduct bid process for all facilities related services as determined by corporate policies.
  • Maximize asset performance including but not limited to risk analysis, measuring probability and consequences of failures in a consistent manner as well as support the evaluations of failure and root cause analysis.
  • Identify and focus on cost reductions in non-considered maintenance requirements and new implementations.
  • Ensure good maintenance practices, contractor’s operations procedures, and safety practices.
  • Align with the head of finance and authorizations for investments in new adequations, repairs and projects.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor´s Degree (Business, Engineering, Military or Security) required. Master´s degree preferred.

Fully bilingual Spanish/English (verbal and written skills required)

  1. 10 + years’ experience as Security Manager and/or in similar positions with an international company.
  2. A minimum of 10-12 years of combined experience in EHS and Facilities program implementation. 
  3. Minimum 7 years managing people or teams.
  4. Knowledge about EHS regulations applicable in México (STPS, SEGOB, Labor Law, etc.)
  5. Physical, Industrial and Electronic Security Systems.
  6. Investigation, evaluation, and risk assessment.
  7. Crisis Management and Business Continuity.
  8. Executive Protection programs implementation.
  9. Advanced knowledge of program, project implementation and process improvement techniques (LEAN, 5S, Six Sigma, Vale Steam Mapping, etc).
  10. International Security Certification preferred (e.g., CPP, CSO).
  11. Supply Chain Security general knowledge.
  12. Security and Project Management.
