Job description

Our client is an Australian-owned and run company with offices and showrooms based in multiple cities across Australia. They are inspired by creating beautiful design that transforms the every day, forming connection, comfort, and joy in Australian homes and businesses.

They are now looking to hire a BDM Support staff member who will provide essential support in the successful implementation of the sales plan and work closely with the Head of Sales and the BDM team.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Make initial phone calls and appointments for the BDM’s and book first appointments.
  • Focus on lost customers and downward-trading customers across the BDM database.
  • Revitalize inactive customers and reintroduce the client's brand as a key furniture supplier.
  • Meets (exceeds) assigned budgets for calls and converted meetings.
  • Identify market opportunities.
  • Proactively assesses, clarifies, and validates client's needs on an ongoing basis.
  • Determine present and future needs and propose suitable products to maintain and grow revenue for the Company.
  • Leads solutions-based efforts that best address client’s needs, while coordinating the involvement of all necessary resources.
  • Maintain sales materials and current product knowledge.
  • Monitor the client’s debt and keep it in line with the client's required terms.
  • Prepare a variety of status reports - including activity, closings, follow-up, and adherence to goals.
  • Maintain weekly reporting.
  • Make recommendations to help improve performance.

Requirements

  • Preferred qualifications include a degree in Business/Commerce.
  • Demonstrated a history of successful independent work within a dynamic, high-speed setting.
  • Collaborative individual with robust abilities in managing stakeholders across various functions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate product features and benefits effectively.
  • Proven experience in making outbound calls and scheduling appointments, particularly in a support role for Business Development Managers.
  • Comfortable working with high-level clients and maintaining professionalism in all interactions.
  • Proven experience in sales support or a similar role, preferably in the furniture or home décor industry.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, demonstrating empathy and understanding of their needs.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
  • Proactive attitude with the ability to identify market opportunities and suggest improvements to sales strategies.
  • Goal-oriented mindset with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the sales team and other departments to achieve common goals.
  • Familiarity with sales reporting and analysis, with the ability to generate and interpret various reports.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and willingness to take on additional responsibilities as needed.
