Job description

Lifesteps is hiring a Full-Time Home Based Family Educator in the Beaver Falls area.

Position Summary: 

The Home Based Family Educator is responsible for providing child development services, social services, health services, and parent involvement services to families including home visits, socializations, advocacy and crisis intervention in accordance with federal, state, and program guidelines. The Home-based Family Educator will work with typically developing children and children with disabilities to effectively implement the Early Head Start home-based curriculum. This position must meet requirements per Federal Head Start Performance Standards, licensing and regulatory standards and Lifesteps’ policies and procedures.

This full-time position works a schedule of Monday through Friday 8am to 4:30pm with weekends off!

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

• Associates Degree (AA) In Early Childhood Education (or related field) OR a home-based CDA credential or comparable credential. 

• Demonstrate competency to plan and implement home-based learning experiences that ensure effective implementation of the home visiting curriculum and promote children’s progress across the standards described in the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework: Ages Birth to Five, including for children with disabilities and dual language learners, as appropriate, and to build respectful, culturally responsive, and trusting relationships with families.

• Knowledge in infant/toddler development/education/health/nutrition/safety as well as family dynamics and adult learning principles.

• Knowledge of community resources and the skills to link families with the appropriate agencies and services. • Must be able to secure, within 90 days of hire, and maintain the basic first aid and pediatric CPR certification.

• Demonstrated ability to complete basic computer tasks or Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

• Current driver’s license and the ability to travel for business utilizing personal vehicle.

Preferred:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Early Childhood Education (or related field)

• Bilingual English/Spanish speaking
