Overview:
IT Industry names for this role are often: Server Engineer or Systems Engineer or Server Firewall Engineer.
This role will work in a small team focused on deployment, management and using firewalls for protection of servers. This role will primarily manage Server Firewalls using tags to accomplish micro-segmentation with a product called Illumio Core for a large number of Windows and Linux servers across multiple Data Centers. Demonstrated experience of server-based applications and use of firewalls to protect network ports and protocols is required.
With a high degree of latitude, the Illumio Engineer applies creativity along with sound engineering principles to evaluate, design, develop, implement and administer systems, applications, networks and/or associated infrastructures and specialty equipment. This general classification will be used for a wide variety of IHT Engineering specialty roles in the Health System, including Communication, Desktop, Network, Storage, Infrastructure, Test and Integration Engineers. This position is a hybrid schedule, need to reside in Idaho or Oregon. Please inquire if interested in moving to Idaho or Oregon.
Primary role of this position: Illumio Core micro-segmentation – Systems Engineering.
Required experience: minimum 1 year working as Illumio Core system administrator/engineer or minimum 3 years working with network protocols and network firewalls.
Required experience: proficient in managing server firewalls.
Required knowledge: proficient in Cyber Security best practices.
Job Duties:
Become a subject matter expert, implementing & maintaining micro-segmentation of server firewalls.
Work with application support teams to ensure proposed server and application changes align with Illumio rulesets.
Coordinate and implement perpetual Illumio system update cycles.
Resolve incident tickets related to micro-segmentation.
Coordinate and implement on-going Illumio ruleset optimizations and annual audits.
Mature the use of Illumio to manage firewalls in the environment, implementing new features and functionality to enhance protections.
