The Importance of the Role

The Medical Information and Library Contractor role will divide responsibilities between support of Sarepta’s Medical Information Call Center for health professionals and Electronic Library. The ideal candidate will find satisfaction in driving customer service improvements for both external health professionals and internal stakeholders.

The Opportunity to Make a Difference

  • Support of Medical Information and Call Center:
    • Daily engagement with vendor contact center staff, optimizing customer service
    • Create and maintain product knowledge database used by the Call Center, including but not limited to, Standard Response Letters and Frequently Asked Question summaries
    • Limited research and preparation of bespoke responses
  • Support of Medical Library:
    • Perform routine and ad hoc literature monitoring, as well as de novo strategic projects
    • Contribute to periodic Journal Clubs
    • Oversight of Vault platform reference library
    • Act as substitute manager for Sarepta’s suite of Electronic Library resources
  • Periodic department activity reporting and other analytical projects, including the ability to identify service improvements/innovations from request trends and industry best practices
  • This role will include limited “on call” shift coverage for nights (1 night/week) and weekends (1 weekend/month), and occasional virtual/in-person conference support.

More about You

  • 3-5 years pharmaceutical industry experience in Medical Information or Library/Knowledge Management – successful experience in associated Medical Affairs/R&D functions will also be considered
  • Scientific/clinical (BSPharm, PharmD, BSN) or library sciences degree
  • Understanding of multiple scientific literature search engines/databases, their capabilities, and when to best leverage in searching
  • Proficient in use of Word, Excel, Adobe, SharePoint, and PowerPoint, including slide deck re-formatting
  • Adept in using Vault platforms, including associated content classification and hierarchical models
  • Understanding of US and global regulations pertaining to Medical Information
  • Understanding of biotechnology/academic electronic library organization
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work collaboratively on a multi-disciplinary team
  • Attention to detail
  • Experience in neurology and/or rare disease preferred, but not required
