Your missions

Founded in 2008, PublicRelay has a simple goal: to help PR and communications professionals understand how their work impacts business goals. We help large companies and federal agencies make sense of diverse and evolving media landscapes and understand the trends shaping their industries.

Our analytic reporting helps communications managers and senior executives develop sophisticated strategies for promoting their organizations and brands. Our teams assess traditional, social, and broadcast media from global sources to provide clients with a refined view of their most important coverage.

PublicRelay is looking for an enthusiastic and hard-working Associate Media Analyst to join our team! This role works directly with our Media Analysts to assess traditional, social, and broadcast news, identify pertinent trends, and provide daily customized deliverables and news summaries to our clients.

A successful candidate should be highly analytical, self-motivated, and be able to demonstrate the ability to work quickly and efficiently under deadline pressure to support client deliverables. Additionally, candidates will be relied upon to work independently with limited oversight and management.

This is a fully remote, part-time position to work weekend hours starting at 7:00 AM EST.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize our custom technology to prioritize and filter domestic and international news content
  • Support the Account Manager by providing accurate content analysis and insights on client media trends
  • Curate customized client newsletters, highlighting the significant company and stakeholder mentions, as well as industry trends
  • Research and gather additional data for clients to provide a more comprehensive picture of people and events in the news

Desired Skills

  • Undergraduate degree, preferably in communications, journalism, public relations, English, or business with a minimum 3.2 GPA
  • Strong reading comprehension, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to interpret large amounts of news coverage and succinctly communicate trends and insights
  • Intellectual curiosity, accountability, a sense of humor, and a commitment to staying on top of current events and global news
