Job description

Introduction:

Are you a recruiter with a deep understanding of software engineering and a passion for finding and hiring the best coding talent? Do you thrive on building relationships with developers and engineers, helping them find their perfect career opportunities? If you’re a recruitment expert who speaks the language of coders and loves matching top software engineers with cutting-edge roles, then our client has the perfect role for you. We’re looking for a Software Engineering Recruiter (aka The Code Hunter) to join our team and bring in the brightest minds in software development.

Imagine being the critical link between engineering talent and opportunities at a fast-growing tech company. As a Software Engineering Recruiter at our client, you’ll be responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and hiring top-tier software engineers, developers, and architects. This role isn’t just about filling roles—it’s about understanding the technical skills, cultural fit, and long-term goals of both candidates and the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Talent Sourcing and Engagement:
  • Identify and engage top-tier software engineering talent through various channels, including LinkedIn, GitHub, Stack Overflow, job boards, and tech meetups. You’ll actively source passive candidates, using creative techniques to find hidden talent.
  • Candidate Screening and Assessment:
    • Conduct in-depth interviews and technical screens to assess candidates’ skills, experience, and cultural fit. You’ll collaborate with hiring managers to understand the technical requirements for each role and ensure that candidates meet those needs.
  • Full-Cycle Recruiting:
    • Own the full recruitment process from sourcing to offer acceptance. You’ll work closely with candidates, guiding them through every step of the hiring process and ensuring a positive experience. This includes interview scheduling, feedback collection, and offer negotiation.
  • Building Talent Pipelines:
    • Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of software engineering candidates for current and future openings. You’ll keep an active network of developers and stay connected with potential candidates to ensure the talent pool remains robust.
  • Collaboration with Hiring Managers:
    • Partner with engineering and leadership teams to understand their needs and priorities. You’ll provide valuable insights on the talent market, advise on compensation trends, and recommend sourcing strategies to attract the best candidates.
  • Employer Branding and Networking:
    • Promote the company’s employer brand by showcasing the culture, tech stack, and unique opportunities to the developer community. You’ll attend industry events, tech conferences, and hackathons to build relationships and engage with top engineering talent.
  • Data-Driven Recruitment:
    • Use data and recruiting metrics to analyze the effectiveness of your sourcing strategies, improve time-to-hire, and optimize the recruitment process. You’ll provide reports and insights to leadership to ensure recruitment goals are met.

    Requirements

    Required Skills:

    • Technical Recruiting Expertise: Deep understanding of software development roles, technologies, and frameworks such as Java, Python, JavaScript, C++, cloud computing, DevOps, and agile development. You can confidently discuss technical requirements with both candidates and hiring managers.
    • Full-Cycle Recruiting: Proven experience managing the full recruiting lifecycle for software engineering roles. You’ve successfully sourced, interviewed, and placed developers and engineers in challenging positions.
    • Sourcing Mastery: Expertise in sourcing and engaging passive candidates through platforms like LinkedIn Recruiter, GitHub, Stack Overflow, and other tech communities. You’re skilled at using Boolean searches and other advanced techniques to find the best talent.
    • Communication Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with candidates and collaborate effectively with hiring managers. You’re skilled at explaining complex roles in a way that resonates with developers.
    • Negotiation and Closing: Experience in negotiating offers and closing candidates, ensuring that compensation packages are competitive and aligned with market standards.
    • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple open roles simultaneously while maintaining clear communication and attention to detail.
    • Humor: A great sense of humor, because even in the competitive world of technical recruiting, we believe in creating a work environment that is both productive and enjoyable. If you can engage with engineers while keeping things light, you’re our kind of recruiter.

    Educational Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Computer Science, or a related field. Equivalent experience with a proven track record in technical recruiting is also valued.
    • Certifications in HR, technical recruiting, or relevant fields are a plus. If you’ve completed recruiting workshops or courses focused on software engineering roles, that’s an added bonus.

    Experience Requirements:

    • 3+ years of experience in recruiting software engineers and developers, with a focus on placing talent in roles such as front-end, back-end, full-stack developers, DevOps engineers, and cloud architects.
    • Proven experience using applicant tracking systems (ATS) and recruiting tools like LinkedIn Recruiter, GitHub, and job boards to source and manage candidates.
    • Experience recruiting in fast-paced environments such as tech startups, SaaS companies, or high-growth tech organizations is highly desirable.

    Benefits

    • Health and Wellness: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance plans with low co-pays and premiums.
    • Paid Time Off: Competitive vacation, sick leave, and 20 paid holidays per year.
    • Work-Life Balance: Flexible work schedules and telecommuting options.
